Week 5.

WEEK 5 As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it. The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell... The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain. Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue... Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful... [It looks like someone took them off, yeah. Not like they were smashed and broke off, like they were deliberately removed in one piece.]

Well, let's keep looking around the feet of the statue for anything else of interest before she moves on to asking people about it. She ... probably won't climb it that seems weird. But will ask Miphanus to float up and check it out. ]

[It doesn't seem like there's anything unusual up there! It's just a giant fuckoff statue hanging out.]

[ Well she didn't expect much. So let's go and start asking people in town about the statue, see if they can tell her about it! ... I mean starting if anyone is hanging out in the area. ]

[It won't take her too long to find someone, an Eterna native, who's willing to talk; he seems like a fairly young guy, so it's not like he'll know the history of everything ever firsthand, but...well, what does she want to know?]

[ Well, then, that's going to begin with...! What does the statue depict? ]

[azumods]

[The statue depicts an ancient Pokémon, supposedly, one that was present at the beginning of the world.]

[ Oh wow...

What was its name? Do they know? Or actually, is the statue there for any particular reason? ]

[azumods]

[The statue was once the center of many rituals, ceremonies and festivals throughout the town, though the reasons why have been largely lost to time. A few years ago, some people took interest in it and the old stories surrounding it, though. People who were really into the legends and myths and the old ways. They would probably know more about it.]

[ Oh! Are they still in town? Or could they tell her their names or what they looked like? ]

[azumods]

[Well... One of them was Cynthia. The others were members of Team Galactic.

So...]

[ . . . At the same time?

Or at different times? ]

[azumods]

[At around the same time.]

[hyruglyphics]

[ . . . Hmmm.

Does the village have an elder or scholar that would know any more about this? ]

[azumods]

[No. They haven't for a long time; a lot of their culture has been lost.]

[hyruglyphics]

[ Mmmmmaaaaannnnn ok.

No, she smiles politely and thanks him for telling her.

... She'll still sort of vainly look around town to see if there's any other iconography which looks similar, but if it's a dead end, it's a dead end. ]
