Week 5.

WEEK 5

As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it.

The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell...

The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain.

Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue...

Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful...

Afternoon

[Riolu, that was a valiant effort]

That's unusual. Could it be...? [He remembers something from a book about basic typing matches] What type is your companion?

[Sorry Kiryu, let Rey just...pick up Riolu from where he's still lying on the ground in a state of "well, this might as well happen".]

I have no idea, that's the problem! Golett isn't in any of the books I've read about Sinnoh, so I'm assuming its from...elsewhere, I don't know.

[What are the other regions even called, anyway? Oh, it doesn't matter...]

I can't say I'm certain, but I remember reading some attacks phase through Ghost types. [As someone whose team has two Fighting types, he stumbled upon warnings about Ghost types when he was researching Fighting types, yep. He looks at Golett, growing unsure] Although that's nowhere close to what ghosts are supposed to be like...

Ghosts...

[...huh. Kiryu makes a very logical point - that was the exact way she would have expected a Ghost-type to behave, but...]

....do you think Golett could be a Ghost type? It looks nothing like one.

[Rey might have been imagining it, but that comment might have gotten a little 'huff!' out of Golett. Hmm...]

It hasn't phased through any walls, right?

Not that I've seen, at least.

[...maybe she could ask it to try? Hm...]

I have heard that's something ghosts can do. That would prove it without a doubt.

[Although Kiryu is having a really hard time trying to picture Golett walking through a wall as if it's no big deal]

A ghost...

[...

....she. she honestly thought it was a robot. Could it really be...?]

Well, Ghost-type Pokemon can resist the Normal-type, if I'm remembering correctly. Do you have a Normal-type Pokemon handy?

[Never mind the fact that her Riolu just used a Normal-type attack.]

[robot ghost]

No...I have a couple Fighting-type, but no Normal-type.
