WEEK 5 As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it. The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell... The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain. Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue... Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful... [Well, Camilla was actually going around to look for some stuff for Altena to fight, but...this is actually the most adorable thing she's ever seen? What the fuck. Hopefully Noctis won't mind some footsteps coming his way, Camilla looking utterly amused.]

My, you seem to be getting on with these creatures rather quickly. I take it that you were a cat person, where you came from?

[ The Glameow sits and looks over at Camilla with that vaguely weird blank stare, but blinks when Noctis pets her. ]

Yeah. Cats are pretty much the best. [ And he looks positively enamored. ] Kind of worried that she's not begging for treats or very responsive, but... I guess it's just something I have to get used to.

[Okay, that gets a chuckle from Camilla. It results in Altena waking up, looking at what's going on and just...jumping down from Camilla's shoulder and staring at Noct herself.]

Oh, you'll receive no disagreement from me. They're fickle, but darling creatures...

[Of course, that second bit makes her a bit sadder.]

That simply is the way the creatures here are, I'm afraid. Even being here for so long, the darlings I've kept with me are only just beginning to show shades of their personalities...perhaps if that little one is someone you're interested in bringing with you, you'll find her more responsive in time?

[Get yourself a kitty, Noct, just do it.]

[ Noct raises his eyebrows as he likes at Altena... then holds out a hand. ]

Hey, you're pretty cute, too. You want some pets?

[ And to Camilla-- ]

Yeah... Ignis mentioned something like that. At least you're helping them, even if it's a small way right now. [ The Glameow who's attached herself to Noct rubs up against him. ] I'm pretty tempted. I've always wanted a cat.

[Altena will give a small mrow and just kind of come over for pettings. She isn't exactly much better off than the wild Glameow, but she's definitely a little receptive to it, if nothing else!]

If they're unable to do such a thing themselves, then perhaps teaching them through example is the proper way to do so. It certainly has worked this far.

[Hmm.]

Tell me, do you have any Poke Balls of your own? [...Assuming he got the briefing on what they are. Either way, Camilla seems to be digging through a small bag as she speaks.]

I've never been much of a teacher, but for these guys? I'd do pretty much anything.

[ Score. Noctis gives those good pets to Altena, while the wild one just watches. And stares. ]

Yeah. I did a couple of errands earlier and picked some up.

[...That enthusiasm is almost adorable? Man, she kind of sees why Ignis likes him--]

Oh, how wonderful. You'll do well in this world; I'm certain of that much. I'd wager that heart of yours is made of gold, perhaps.

[noct is too pure for this sinful region]

[ Ah. At that, he chuckles a little sheepishly. ]

It's more that I've always been a pushover when it comes to animals.

I can understand that. It's hard to deny something so precious your time of day...

[There are so many cute things in this world, it's almost disgusting how much time could be wasted just petting them--]
