Week 5.

WEEK 5 As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it. The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell... The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain. Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue... Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful... [ yooooo that is one hell of a cake. keith hasn't had earth food in a while, so his mouth is starting to water.

Yeah, I'd say so. Finally got my hands on some cash after doing some babysitting earlier today.

...Did you make that?

That's good to hear.

[look at it, all perfectly sliced and fluffy]

I did--would you like some? I think there should be enough for all of us or close to it.

...Sure. I'll try a piece.

What is it?

Nothing special, just a chiffon cake.

[however, once you taste it you will find your defense, spirit, and HP all take a boost-]

[Just kidding. But it is a really, really good cake.]

[ well truth be told he actually does feel all those things because keith hasn't had earth food in a while? and it's good. really, really good. his eyes widen as he bites into it, and he pretty much devours his slice of cake. ]

This is...really good. Wow.

Good, I'm flattered you like it. [He even smiled about it, because that was the best part of cooking so far as Ignis was concerned.] I've always been partial to that one, myself.

I haven't had cake like this in forever. What made you decide to make this for everyone?

[discutio]

Nothing, really. I was just borrowing someone's kitchen trying to earn some of the local currency, and I thought it might be best if everyone had something readily available. No reason to survive solely on basic provisions if we don't desperately need to.

[redbellion]

Good idea. Basic provisions are fine, but I'm sure everyone will appreciate this.

[ ... ] I can definitely see how you and Noctis are friends.

[discutio]

It's not the first time I've cooked for everyone here. I hardly mind it at all, I prefer keeping busy where I can.

[...hm]

What do you mean?

[redbellion]

Well... Noctis bought me clothes earlier today without expecting anything in return. [ he's definitely pulling off the new look, too! ] It was unexpected, and he was just doing it to be helpful. I could've bought it on my own with a little more money, but he went and did it anyway.

Seems like that's what you're doing here.

[discutio]

Noct's a compassionate person. It's just in his nature.

[Ignis folded his arms, smiling slightly.]

I just support him. And I suppose that role's extended as far as this group, since we're all working together.

[redbellion]

[ a small grin, then: ] Yeah, well...even that can go a long way during times like these.

[discutio]

It's hardly as impactful as all that. Everyone's doing as much as they can, that's all.

[redbellion]

I'll do what I can, too. I may not be able to cook, but I can help with combat training if needed. ...And piloting, but I don't think we'll need that here.

[discutio]

Almost definitely not, but...who really knows, at this point.
