Week 5.

WEEK 5 As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it. The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell... The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain. Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue... Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful... [Hell yeah! It will support you just fine, it doesn't seem like it's taken much damage to the structure itself - though the petal making up the small hand seems to have scorch marks of some sort on it.]

[.........well I mean this is obviously a Grass Gym, he’s not really surprised people brought fire to ruin the Gym Leader’s day.

So let’s head to the end of that petal and take a look at what’s on the other side!]

[...It looks like there are rather large scorch marks burned into both the clock hand and, if you look closely, into the floor as well, scarring the ground a bit despite all the overgrowth.

It also looks like there are still traces of something that may have seeped into the ground as well, preventing things from growing in certain spots. Some kind of poison, maybe.]

Maybe this isn’t telling him much about the Gym Leader, he feels like he’s learning a thing or two about Team Galactic. He kind of wonders...

Hm. He’ll take a closer look in the direction of the scorch marks and the poison to see if he can figure out anything else about the attacker... and the defender.]

[It seems as though whatever caused the flames was likely low to the ground, at least. Which likely doesn't say too much, outside of "It probably wasn't anything flying" and "It probably wasn't a human with a flamethrower", but at least it's something.]

[hmmm. And are the poison patches in any identifiable pattern?]

[Sprayed outward over a really long distance, looks like.]

[hmmmm.

Well, uh, this has been illuminating. Is there anything else immediately noticeable in the area with all the scorch marks and all the poison?]

[It doesn't seem so in this area.]

[Hmm, okay. Well, he thinks he’s done here so he doesn’t steal Kiryu’s thunder.]
