WEEK 5

As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it.

The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell...

The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain.

Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue...

Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful...

[ He stands and walks over to give him a kiss. Lepidia rubs up against his leg. ]

Hard day at work?

Something like that. [He put his arms around Noctis' shoulders, returning it and breaking apart with a smile.] What about you?

It's been alright. [ Will he ever get tired of seeing Ignis smile like that? Hell no. He puts his hands on Ignis's waist. ] I made something for you.

Did you? If I didn't know better I might think you were trying to impress me.

Hah, let's wait to see what you think after. C'mon.

[ He gives him another kiss, then takes him by the hand and over to a table. ]

So it's not the best, but hopefully it's not that bad.

...You've been cooking without me? I'm not going to find something on fire when I turn around, am I?

Hey, I didn't set anything on fire.

[ He laughs a little and sits next to him, then takes a forkful of cake and holds it to Ignis's lips. ]

Noct, you know I am more than capable of holding a fork.

[...he does not sound all that offended.]

Yeah, yeah, just eat your cake.

[ He's still grinning. ]

If you insist.

[he's still gonna eat it without complaining, but it is well within his job description to give you shit 24/7]

[ When he lowers the fork and speaks again, there's a touch of apprehension. It's... well, it's not bad, really. A little burnt at the edges, and a little less flavorful than it probably should be. ]

[Ignis looked like he was giving the matter the utmost consideration for a moment, thoughtfully silent. Then:]

...It's a good attempt. There's room for improvement, certainly, but you've done an admirable job this time.

I'm glad to hear it.

[ He's relieved, truly. ]

Perhaps next time you could benefit from some assistance?

That'd be great, actually. Just like when I used to help you at camp.

I think that would be nice--besides that, with so many of us I could benefit from a second pair of hands.

So, cooking for the whole group? Sounds like a pretty massive undertaking.

Nothing I haven't been able to handle so far. I quite enjoy the challenge, actually.

...Apologies, but it's been just about strictly vegetarian so far. I'm afraid you're going to need to adapt.
