Week 6.

WEEK 6 One thing is going to be made abundantly clear this week: the routes you're traveling are cold. Through Monday night, you'll likely find it best to skirt around the foot of that massive mountain that lies immediately to the east of Eterna City; it looks treacherous, and while some of you may be up to the trip, it's probably best to not waste your energy before you get anywhere near Lake Acuity. The journey is going to be a long one before you get there, but the first few days will see you making good time, actually. Between that and the noticeable changes to the world, maybe it won't be so bad...? ...Or not. Tuesday morning and beyond is where the hell sets in for those of you that aren't used to or don't like the cold. The routes are full of perpetual snowfall; it isn't heavy, given the time of year, but the fact of the matter is that it's still coming down, and the snow is piled up directly on the route clear up to the average person's waist. It makes traveling slow going, though if you have a fire-type it might be feasible to clear a bit more of a path - be careful with that, though, because all the runoff has to go somewhere, and it's possible that you'll just make the path icy in the end. Either way, it's cold, due to the snowfall you're going to be wet, and traveling is going to be very, very slow; here's hoping whatever's at that lake is worth it, in the end. ...Wherever the lake may actually happen to lie; no matter where you look on the way to Snowpoint City, you won't find an entrance to it... [Oh wait, she's already gone in for the attack. Awesome. He pumps his fists nervously.]

Even some of the wild Pokémon are starting to show signs of improvement... Whatever happened to this world definitely runs deep though, I agree.

[ It connects! And the Sneasel is pushed back, clearly a little bit the worse for wear until it ... well, vanishes and then teleports behind Beldum! to strike it with a Faint Attack!! ]

[ He begins to bunch up some snow together. ]

Ah, so it's more like that. That... sounds like it could get unpleasant quickly.

W-watch out! [Of course, it'd be too late to get that kind of warning out, but still.]

Right? It's very strange, because they're in this area where they seem to have higher reasoning... but in many other ways, they still act like animals.

I guess animal biology doesn't work the same here. It's all pretty alien, isn't it?

[Let's help bunch some of this snow together and... oh, these rocks could be used for the eyes?]

[ Yeah way too late, Miphanus is hit! Fortunately in gen4 land Steel resists Dark so it's only neutral damage but ow that hurts, ow? Ow. The Beldum whirls and...

Then is covered in light. In a bright flash, one moment it is a Beldum before in the next moment it makes a new sound and is in a moment much, much larger. You could even say a little over double the size, with what was once its body now more like arms. The now Metang sort of seems awed at itself, and Zelda is too, hurriedly taking out the Sheikah slate to get some photos of it because, ]

Oh wow! Wow, that's evolution, isn't it?!

It is, yes. Even the things that are identifiable as equivalents to animals we know are somewhat odd.

[ventulus]

[ ... By the time they've just about added the snow together with the rocks, Ventus will step back and put his own hands on his hips, looking accomplished. ]

There! I think all we need is a carrot, but...that might be a little difficult to find in the snowy wintery wonderland.

[ventulus]

Yeah, we can. Let's start with just one each at first so no one gets hurt...or something. Aurora, use Tackle!

[ As expected, she goes in to tackle the rock, and...well, she's tiny. If anything, the Pokemon's leveled up some because she's definitely been around from the beginning but it'll take a little more to get it to smash into pieces. ]

... Maybe Ignis would have one? Or one of the other people here who frequently cooks for us...

An evolution?? Mid - battle? Can that even happen?]

[ He reaches into his bag and pulls out a small box of tomatoes. ]

[There's no official rulebook on how a snowman is supposed to look anyway, right?]

None of it's really recognizable, to be honest. Flora's the best behaved goat I've ever met, for instance.

Okay, then it's all settled!

[ Ventus smacks the tomato right onto the snowman's face, and then stands back, putting his hands on his hips, looking proud.
