Week 7.

WEEK 7

After a week of nothing but snow, it's likely that the city is a welcome sight.

The city proper is likewise blanketed in snow, but it's far shallower here, easily walked through; it's soft and powdery and unlikely to cause you to slip, the kind of snow small children and Pokémon might enjoy playing in if they're the sort to enjoy that kind of thing.

And if they were capable of enjoying much, in the case of the children.

That said, the people here are still in the mildly improved state you witnessed in Eterna; it isn't much, but it is improvement, and the world around you continues to change in other, smaller ways as well, so it isn't all for naught.

The wild Pokémon here, however, seem to be experiencing something a little...different from what you've been seeing so far - specifically, the Shellos here seem a little hostile toward one another. Snowpoint City is separate from and parallel to the giant mountain you passed last week, and it's populated by both the blue and pink varieties; the different sorts...don't seem to like each other much. It isn't all-out warfare or anything, but there are definitely skirmishes and mounting tensions happening in slug culture here.

Mediate if you choose, or just enjoy your time in the city. You've earned it, after last week.

CURRENT LOCATION: SNOWPOINT CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week seven of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

You mean Tohsaka's lawnmower?

[Kiryu sounds familiar with that particular Pokemon]

Yeah, that. But that's easier to identify than a, uh, Snorunt.

[ like. what even is that. (other than a pokemon.) ] It looks like candy corn.

We had thought it could be a small bug controlling the lawnmower with electricity.

[Well, maybe Rin has found out what it really is. Kiryu sure wouldn't be aware if she did]

Candy corn? In the middle of snow...?

[...hm...Kiryu picks up Snorunt]

Sure wouldn't be the strangest Pokemon we have seen. So far.

Maybe? All I know is that it paralyzed my Shinx, so...an...electric bug?

[ do those even exist? ]

I don't know, okay? That's just the first thing I thought of. I'm sure there're way weirder ones out there.

...Don't tell her I said this, but Zelda has a weird one that kind of looks like some kind of rock with a pointy nose and two arms.

There was that ghost in the rock. Those were unsettling to encounter in a dark cave.

[Especially since there was a dozen or more]

...she does? Her rock gained a nose too? The big eyebrows were a bit too much, a nose will make it look silly.

[Wrong rock, Kiryu. Keith may be talking about the Metang]

I've never seen it before. Is that the one you guys were talking about back there?

[ he is indeed talking about the metang! ]

And I don't remember there being any eyebrows. So I'm guessing she has...several rocks with her.

Right, that was before you joined. Imagine a purple haze emerging from a rock and screeching all the time. There were a dozen of those in a cave.

[It's kind of nightmarish when put like that, yup]

I wouldn't be surprised if she does. She's rather interested in archeology and knowledge, she seems like the type to have all kind of unusual Pokemon.

...I'm not even going to ask.

[ just. that coupled with the whole "some ghost pokemon are humans" thing?? noooooope. ]

I can definitely see that. If anyone can unlock the mysteries of this place, it's her.

It's like all of us have something we excel at. Despite being a random group, we're not half-bad when it's about assigning roles.

[Everyone got lucky, all things considered]
redbellion: (is someone getting the best of you)

[personal profile] redbellion 2018-07-19 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
I can kind of see that you have a system in place when it comes to that. [ and it's very fortunate that everyone's so cooperative. ] What's your role specifically?

[Kiryu considers that for a moment]

I dunno. Guess I'm the muscle. It's not like I'd be good for leadership roles, and I have been helping around, but fighting by myself or with Pokemon is what I'm really good at.

[Well, no, he's good at a lot of things, but none of them help restore a world's spirit, so they don't count]

[personal profile] redbellion 2018-07-19 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ relatable, honestly. ]

I want to know what you do to strengthen your Pokemon. I know some people have been evolving theirs already, but that's probably because you've all been here for a few months. Still, I'd like to get some ideas.

Training them with each other, observe how wild Pokemon fight, challenge some of the other travelers...

...I fought my Pokemon a couple times too.

[Literally]
redbellion: (somewhere new)

[personal profile] redbellion 2018-07-21 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
You actually fought your Pokemon? Hand-to-hand combat?

[ dude. ] I thought they could kill us in one hit!
takestheblame: 10 (10)

[personal profile] takestheblame 2018-07-21 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
They can injure you badly. It was just with my Fighting-type Pokemon. I trusted them, and we all were careful not to use excessive strength.

[Kiryu is plenty strong, but he's no match for his Heracross, and the only reason why he defeats Daigo is because of size difference]

It achieved what I wanted about Pokemon fighting in unusual ways, so I think it was worth it.
