azume | Week 7.

WEEK 7

After a week of nothing but snow, it's likely that the city is a welcome sight.

The city proper is likewise blanketed in snow, but it's far shallower here, easily walked through; it's soft and powdery and unlikely to cause you to slip, the kind of snow small children and Pokémon might enjoy playing in if they're the sort to enjoy that kind of thing.

And if they were capable of enjoying much, in the case of the children.

That said, the people here are still in the mildly improved state you witnessed in Eterna; it isn't much, but it is improvement, and the world around you continues to change in other, smaller ways as well, so it isn't all for naught.

The wild Pokémon here, however, seem to be experiencing something a little...different from what you've been seeing so far - specifically, the Shellos here seem a little hostile toward one another. Snowpoint City is separate from and parallel to the giant mountain you passed last week, and it's populated by both the blue and pink varieties; the different sorts...don't seem to like each other much. It isn't all-out warfare or anything, but there are definitely skirmishes and mounting tensions happening in slug culture here.

Mediate if you choose, or just enjoy your time in the city. You've earned it, after last week.

We fought giants once, B.O.W.s called Ogroman. You kill them by ripping massive growths out of their backs and stabbing them. When they die, they melt.

These things are about the size of the department store in Veilstone, by the way. When they melt, they fucking go everywhere. Like, "several city blocks" everywhere.

On the one hand, something like that does sound pretty cool to fight. On the other, that sounds absolutely disgusting.

[Both the stabbing it with its growths and the melting?? Yikes.]

It was so fucking disgusting.

Trust me, I fucking know. The best part is that those were people on my fucking side using them? I just got dragged into helping the Americans for some convoluted reason.

So what was the convoluted reason?

It kind of came back down to the world-ending people being out for something I had.

Sounds like it was a rough time. It's good you managed to get through all that, even if it was disgusting and pretty damn crazy.

I liked the fighting.

Sure, there were some parts of it I wasn't here for, but a lot of it wasn't completely fuckawful.

I can get that. I've seen some pretty awful stuff, but I've enjoyed the fighting I get to do along the way. Travelling's pretty nice too, and I've met some pretty great people too.

But I've never had to deal with world-enders out to get me, so I guess my experiences are a little different.

Let's say I wouldn't recommend it? I did it once, I think that's enough.

Definitely enough. Here's hoping you can avoid a repeat of that whenever you get home, yeah?

I'm pretty sure Sherry's trying to make sure it won't happen again, at least.

From what you've told me, she seems like the sort of person who'll manage it.

Yeah. I mean, even if she didn't want to I'm pretty sure her boss would make her - I still have the thing that everyone's after, so it's kind of a matter of protecting her country.

Not like I think she wouldn't anyway.

I'm not surprised to hear that. She sounds like a great person. You're pretty lucky you've gotten to know her, yeah?
