Week 7.

WEEK 7

After a week of nothing but snow, it's likely that the city is a welcome sight.

The city proper is likewise blanketed in snow, but it's far shallower here, easily walked through; it's soft and powdery and unlikely to cause you to slip, the kind of snow small children and Pokémon might enjoy playing in if they're the sort to enjoy that kind of thing.

And if they were capable of enjoying much, in the case of the children.

That said, the people here are still in the mildly improved state you witnessed in Eterna; it isn't much, but it is improvement, and the world around you continues to change in other, smaller ways as well, so it isn't all for naught.

The wild Pokémon here, however, seem to be experiencing something a little...different from what you've been seeing so far - specifically, the Shellos here seem a little hostile toward one another. Snowpoint City is separate from and parallel to the giant mountain you passed last week, and it's populated by both the blue and pink varieties; the different sorts...don't seem to like each other much. It isn't all-out warfare or anything, but there are definitely skirmishes and mounting tensions happening in slug culture here.

Mediate if you choose, or just enjoy your time in the city. You've earned it, after last week.

CURRENT LOCATION: SNOWPOINT CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week seven of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

enjoymyatelier: king arthur with insubstantial tits was right theeeeere (but sooooolaaaaaaa)

...

I suppose. I think they'll probably be fine if I don't keep them out too long.

...

[...sigh he's still going to try out another balaclava, this one doesn't seem like it's going to fit quite right...]

Advantage of those Pokeballs, I guess.

[Not that Bucky is buying any, he does seem to be looking through anything that's warm enough for all three of is.]

Pretty nice of 'em to make plenty of clothing for the Pokemon, too.
enjoymyatelier: he's only attractive when drawn by takeuchi (what a cool guy)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-18 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not surprised there's a lot of clothes for Pokemon, given how many people seem to like dressing up their pets back home. I'm just glad they're reasonably tasteful rather than being gaudy.
semistableman: (✪ he's never coming back)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-07-18 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, here it seems like at one point Pokemon were considering companions more than pets.
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-19 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure that many pet owners back home would make a large distinction there.
semistableman: (★ i'd go back and change everything)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-07-19 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, but I'm pretty sure Flora actually understands me as opposed to paying attention because I give her food and attention. I kinda get the feeling people would be able to carry on an actual conversation with their Pokemon.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-21 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes, now I understand what you mean. Pokemon are definitely more intelligent than a dog or a cat, though I have heard some highly intelligent birds are basically capable of that.
semistableman: (★ i would change everything)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-07-22 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't know much about pet birds, but the Pokemon here are pretty smart.

[And the god could talk, even if it was in his head and actually pretty alarming.]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-23 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed they are. It's honestly why I like them, because I'd say that I don't necessarily like the idea of owning a pet. It seems like it's harder to get them to understand what you want them to do.
semistableman: how about that (❅ you feel this way)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-07-24 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, with pets I don't think they really understand you, not like Pokemon.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-26 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. You're dealing with a different level of understanding with animals than you are with Pokemon.
semistableman: of my own (★ never had a cherry valance)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-07-28 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

I get the feeling they understand spoken word, and aren't just listening to the tone of your voice. Kinda lends credence to the whole people are Pokemon thing a couple of the people here have mentioned.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-29 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I presume if Pokemon are just... living things, humans would've evolved from Pokemon in this world the way humans in other worlds evolved from primates.
semistableman: (★ but you won't ever let me go)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-07-30 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds possible.

Though what they call "evolution" here is pretty damn strange.
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-31 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's more like metamorphosis, honestly.
semistableman: (★ but you won't ever let me go)

[personal profile] semistableman 2018-08-01 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. That's the right term for it.

I wonder what they call what we call evolution.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-08-02 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... maybe I'll have to look it up, if it actually does work the same way as in our world.
