Week 7.
WEEK 7 After a week of nothing but snow, it's likely that the city is a welcome sight. The city proper is likewise blanketed in snow, but it's far shallower here, easily walked through; it's soft and powdery and unlikely to cause you to slip, the kind of snow small children and Pokémon might enjoy playing in if they're the sort to enjoy that kind of thing. And if they were capable of enjoying much, in the case of the children. That said, the people here are still in the mildly improved state you witnessed in Eterna; it isn't much, but it is improvement, and the world around you continues to change in other, smaller ways as well, so it isn't all for naught. The wild Pokémon here, however, seem to be experiencing something a little...different from what you've been seeing so far - specifically, the Shellos here seem a little hostile toward one another. Snowpoint City is separate from and parallel to the giant mountain you passed last week, and it's populated by both the blue and pink varieties; the different sorts...don't seem to like each other much. It isn't all-out warfare or anything, but there are definitely skirmishes and mounting tensions happening in slug culture here. Mediate if you choose, or just enjoy your time in the city. You've earned it, after last week. POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week seven of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

[It's...not unnerving, exactly. Doesn't bother him at all until he starts thinking, what if.]
You have any stories about the afterlife in your world, Ventus?

I've never heard of anyone dying and remembering anything from their past lives, so maybe there are people in the afterlife who do the same thing and wipe people's memories before they come back.
[ ... ]
But, I've been to other worlds and afterlife stuff can get different, so I know it's not all the same on every world.

[He rubs a hand along the back of his neck, not making eye contact.]
The reincarnation thing...I don't know how I feel about it. It sounds better than being tortured forever. But now that I'm friends with some humans, it seems...sad that you'd just be gone.

[ Because being tortured forever? Just. Yikes. ]
...It is a little sad, but I like to think that even though it probably wouldn't really be always as satisfying as having the person right there, they're never really gone. True bonds between friends can never be severed -- even by death.
[ Ventus raises a hand to lightly place on his chest, before smiling a little sheepishly, and moving the hand to rub at the back of his head. ]
Not that I really want to think about how things would be if I died, but I know it works like that in my universe -- we'd still be connected in some way. Maybe we'd -- or another friend of yours -- would meet again. Make new bonds and memories that can be treasured.

...that's not the same thing at all! It'd be one thing if it were just the memories that went, but if they get actually reincarnated as someone totally different? That's just replacing somebody with some other random human you found.
At least my friends back home are all super dead.

[ Then again, he wouldn't be surprised if it happened like that somewhere out there, and he kind of wondered if it did that it would happen constantly. ]
...And sorry about all of your friends back home being dead.
[ He kind of heard that part and that sounds kind of really sad to him. ]
no subject
[Humans being dead and in the afterlife is basically nothing to him. Dead and reincarnated is scary because that actually means they go away.]

[ ... He'll look sheepish about that, yep. ]
