Week 7.

WEEK 7

After a week of nothing but snow, it's likely that the city is a welcome sight.

The city proper is likewise blanketed in snow, but it's far shallower here, easily walked through; it's soft and powdery and unlikely to cause you to slip, the kind of snow small children and Pokémon might enjoy playing in if they're the sort to enjoy that kind of thing.

And if they were capable of enjoying much, in the case of the children.

That said, the people here are still in the mildly improved state you witnessed in Eterna; it isn't much, but it is improvement, and the world around you continues to change in other, smaller ways as well, so it isn't all for naught.

The wild Pokémon here, however, seem to be experiencing something a little...different from what you've been seeing so far - specifically, the Shellos here seem a little hostile toward one another. Snowpoint City is separate from and parallel to the giant mountain you passed last week, and it's populated by both the blue and pink varieties; the different sorts...don't seem to like each other much. It isn't all-out warfare or anything, but there are definitely skirmishes and mounting tensions happening in slug culture here.

Mediate if you choose, or just enjoy your time in the city. You've earned it, after last week.

CURRENT LOCATION: SNOWPOINT CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES

[OOC: Welcome to week seven of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

Right. Well. I was experimenting with a new torture method on them, but they kept on - supporting each other and being intelligent and all that. Totally threw all my tests off.

[He should be mad about that, and he actually does sound a little offput about the emotional support thing, but really he doesn't feel the same way anymore.]

Now, I've told you how most demons aren't fans of creativity. My boss was going to have me killed if I didn't make it work. Long story short, I ended up having to team up with the humans to make everyone think they were getting tortured. They got to stay with me and not get boiled in scorpions or something, and I kept up appearances. But they made me go to their stupid ethics classes and spend time around them, and I guess we ended up being friends. It was entirely their fault, I don't know why they decided to start caring about a literal demon. By all logic, it was a stupid move.

[...Mmmmmmmm. Okay, some of that is definitely getting a bit of her expression to drop. Jesus christ, that really does sound like a mess.]

...They were going to have you killed for not getting the results they wanted.

[Don't like that, no fucking sir.]

Stupid though it may be, I suppose they decided that you were their responsibility in some manner. They wanted to see the best in you...and it seems that they got their wish, with a little bit of perseverance.

[...]

It's good to hear that, you know. That they had such an effect on your, even if you got essentially dragged kicking and screaming into it.

The death penalty isn't common, but neither is being patient with people while they perfect new ideas. My boss in particular, he'd sort of mentored me through a lot of my career. You'd think that we'd have been friends after that, but...

[Hmmm. He seems to chew over that a little.]

It's just, demons are dicks. Shocker, I know, but we don't care about each other like humans do. Shawn wanted me to succeed so that he would look good, and I wanted...

[.....]

Well, success, obviously. But that was the closest I'd come to friends. I thought that was something good. Even though he would kill me if I failed.
