Departure.

ASSISTANCE.

As your time in Jubilife City comes to an end and the continued journey to Lake Verity is set to start again, you'll be met on the outskirts of town today; seeing as she heard you're heading south toward Sandgem Town, that's the section of town where you'll find her. She's someone recognizable by those who entered the school this week - she's one of the teachers that's been there during the day.

She can't say long, she's quick to explain that much to you in the rambling, roundabout manner of speaking that most of the locals still have, odd and vague and sometimes directionless but generally improving; just the same, she and some of the others have gotten a few gifts together for you before you go on your way - she hopes they'll be of some use to at least some of you, whether they can be used on your Pokémon or simply for research purposes.

Sure enough, she has a box with her, and she'll leave it in your care before she moves to return to the school in the middle of town.

The box itself seems to be full of evolutionary items of all sorts; there are a lot of them in there - if you need them, they're likely there - ranging from stones to held items to things that are decidedly harder to find. Either they've been waiting to give these to someone, or they have some means of obtaining them here, but either way the woman giving them to you isn't going to stick around long enough to answer questions.

However, she does say one thing in parting; it's perhaps surprisingly confident, given how the locals tend to be about things.

"Hopefully these will help you defeat Team Galactic for good."

[OOC: Welcome to the end of Week 11! Enjoy your evolutionary items, guys.

No NPC response will be given to this post, though you can thread here amongst yourselves if you wish; we'll see you tomorrow at noon with a new log for your further adventures!]

Thank you. Thank you so much!
niceoppai: Extremely worried. (there's some bad [bleep] in here)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-08-18 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, isn't this great? I kinda wonder what they're for... [She looks over an Electirizer and turns it over in her hands.] This one sure looks like it'd be useful for something.

I read about some of these here in the Trainers' School. I think they're all things that will help a Pokemon evolve. Like -

[Aya takes Kokoro the Pikachu out of its ball, then picks up a Thunder Stone.]

Here, Kokoro. Let's try this.

[She hands the stone over, and sure enough, there's that evolution light. Hello, Raichu.]

It worked! Good job, Kokoro!

[holy shit he's so stoked.]

Let's see, here...

[AH, A DUSK STONE FOR HIM... well he's gotta have a shiny stone too but that's for later, he should probably wait on that, but dusk stone dusk stone]

Huginn! Do you want this...?

[OH SHIT. SHE KIND OF WANTS TO BE A HONCHKROW? god she wants to get big and strong so she caws cheerfully and pokes that thing, starts getting all glowy.... and she is bigger and fluffier now, and also a mob boss????]

Ah, you're going to have to deliver her a thank you note before we leave... here, I'll write it up...
semistableman: of my own (★ never had a cherry valance)

[...Ah. Maybe giving the cute teacher lunch every day did help out after all. He can't complain.

He doesn't know enough about Pokemon to understand what stone he should pick--if any. It's a moment before he picks one at random, sliding it into his pocket. It's kind of pretty, even if it's pretty much a useless rock at this point.]

Thank you. It's appreciated.

[If they ever get out of here, maybe he can have Shuri take a look at the stone.]

[Atsushi happened to be standing near enough to witness the Murkrow's evolution and um holy shit that's suddenly a giant bird.

And while Atsushi seems impressed, poor Chazuke is terrified to the point of trying to crawl up the front of Atsushi's shirt, which he reluctantly allows while clutching him through the fabric.]

Guess I didn't have to wait too much longer after all to see an evolution happen.
niceoppai: Shocked and amazed. (you'd make a great cult leader)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-08-19 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow! It's even cuter now! So these are evolution items? I gotta hear more about those.
enjoymyatelier: have fun storming the castle, kayneth (a totally honorable mage duel)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-08-19 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I was honestly expecting it to take far longer than this, because I had absolutely no idea when I'd be able to evolve practically any of my Pokemon, honestly.

[...he's gotta pet his birb because holy shit she's so much fluffier now.....]

[personal profile] gekkaju 2018-08-20 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm glad this happened then, for your sake.

[He smiles, turning his attention to the much larger Pokemon.]

You were right too about them getting bigger, wow.

There are a bunch of different ones. The stones, like I used just now, or other weird little device things.
niceoppai: Eating a wafer. (is that good for you)

[personal profile] niceoppai 2018-08-20 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'm gonna take this one and figure out what it does. It looks really cool to me.
enjoymyatelier: have fun storming the castle, kayneth (a totally honorable mage duel)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-08-21 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! I'm sure you're excited to see what you can do now, too, aren't you, Huginn?

[well, she's not as jubilant as, say, Velasquez the Frillish would be, but she does let out a self-satisfied caw as Kayneth pats her on the back.]
gekkaju: (54)

[personal profile] gekkaju 2018-08-21 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
You could always try having a battle with somebody later. I bet that would tell you if she's learned any new moves.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-08-23 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it would. I'd ask you, but... well, perhaps I ought to wait and see if I catch a new Pokemon before that.
gekkaju: (38)

[personal profile] gekkaju 2018-08-24 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
[His poor, wimpy bug...]

Hah...maybe one of these days Chazuke here will be strong enough to take her on!

[The Wimpod lets out a pathetic sounding little noise that sounds like he'd die if he had to.]
enjoymyatelier: i think he's fucking her navel (that position is bizarre and improbable)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-08-26 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, perhaps at some point a good, long way in the future.
gekkaju: (36)

[personal profile] gekkaju 2018-08-28 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Hey now, he might surprise you...one day.]

Compared to me, you guys have been training a whole lot longer, too. I actually...didn't train Chazuke at all the first month he was with me, so...

[Whoops]
enjoymyatelier: i think he's fucking her navel (that position is bizarre and improbable)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-08-31 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
...

Well.

I suppose no one would have encouraged you to.
gekkaju: (10)

[personal profile] gekkaju 2018-08-31 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
No, not really...but we've been working on it! I've learned all the moves that Chazuke knows at least, so now it's just a matter of getting him stronger.
enjoymyatelier: have fun storming the castle, kayneth (a totally honorable mage duel)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-09-02 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Right, of course. As he gets stronger, he'll probably learn new moves, which should help you come up with new and better strategies.
gekkaju: (29)

[personal profile] gekkaju 2018-09-02 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It's...a little hard knowing what the moves are though. Michael-san used a...TM? To teach him Double Team, and then he knows Sand Attack and Struggle Bug.

We had to figure out Struggle Bug through charades.

[But it worked, somehow.]
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-09-02 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... yes, it's a little difficult. I can usually look things up whenever we get to towns, but... when my Pokemon learn something in the middle of nowhere, it occasionally takes me a good, long while to figure out what my Pokemon are doing unless it's simply hitting something.
