VERITY The journey this month has been easier on you in several ways; despite your losses, your numbers have been bolstered by the addition of two more this month, and unlike the unforgiving terrain on the way to Lake Acuity the routes to Lake Verity seem downright hospitable - they're straightforward, the climate is far more temperate, and there are patches of cheer visible here and there along the paths in the form of those brightly-colored flowers, even as you make your way toward the lakefront. But the lakefront itself is perhaps unsettlingly silent; a reminder, perhaps, of what you're here to do, of the importance of your task. You'll reach the lake sometime in the evening. The sun isn't down yet, but it looks as though it won't be too long before it dips below the horizon; there's more than enough light for you to see what the lake itself looks like, however - the water is still and clear, to an extent where you can see straight down to the bottom regardless of how deep it gets. There's no bridge or other way to cross over the lake that you can see, but once again there's a large rock formation rising out of the center of the lake and a good-sized opening in the stone, leading to what's likely a system of caverns further inside. Your exploration starts here, next to the crystal clear waters of Lake Verity; what happens next is up to you. |

Um...so because of all this, Cynthia and this girl...they failed to stop Team Galactic...and then, um...

[She raises her hand like a kid in class.]
Team Galactic kidnapped us and made us work for them. We were here for a couple months under their control, and then Uxie wiped our memories of it! Uh, it says it didn't do it on purpose. But. Then something happened, that big escape, and we all woke up with our feelings and broke out of there. We found Cynthia right after that. So it could be that she was brought back out of that dimension same as we were!
Cynthia tried to tell us to stay out of it, actually. We had to convince her to let us help. So I guess she's still worried about what she did in the past with you and your friend.

Uh, I mean, um...
[Sena waves his hands around in front of his face, trying to brush it off.]
We were able to escape 'cause of um...Uxie and Azelf and the other one escaping from the Galactic Base, and apparently something they did woke us up and gave us back our emotions or something? Before that, we were all hypnotized Galactic Grunts and we don't remember how we got here, and all of us came from waaaaay different worlds than this one, or even each other...
[okay, so get to the point.]
Um...if those guys did something to let us escape, maybe something they did let Cynthia out too? Or, or, uh, maybe Cynthia let them escape, and that's why she happened to see us walk out?
[Sena scratches the back of his head, accidentally dislodging the silent Shell from it and ends up briefly flailing around to catch the despairing Possessed Cicada Shell.] S-sorry, Shell...Uh, er...
[Sheepish laughter.] I m-mean...when you mentioned that Cynthia was already involved with Team Galactic before, I couldn't help but wonder if, um...our escape, and the lake deities' escape, and her telling us to go after them to find a way back home, maybe that's all related somehow?
[wow. that was a lot of words to get to that one small point, though.]

Um...I guess we won't have all the answers until we get a chance to speak to Cynthia again, so...we should worry about what's in front of us right now and help the lake spirit here first, right?
[It's not like he can think of anything else to do, and all he knows how to do is push forward. Besides, his Pokemon are all being a miserable cuddle pile either at his feet or in his arms, and that's starting to become really...distracting...
