Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. There's nothing wrong with that -- it can be pretty fun, I think.

[And what a question that was, leaving Ignis very, very quiet for a few seconds. The world had already been saved, and if he wasn't already questioning how long they'd been there he would have assumed it to have been done a matter of hours ago. This on top of everything was too much to handle...or it would have been, if he didn't have far too much practice in prioritizing the matter at hand over how he felt about it.]

[Still, it took him just a moment to answer, in as steady a voice as possible.]

My...friends, Gladio and Prompto. There are certainly others out there willing and able to fight for the sake of the world, but I've no doubt they'd pull together and lead things without me there.

Very well, I suppose there's no harm in that. The legends claim mortals were created by a hexatheon that was sworn to watch over our world; Titan, Ramuh, Shiva, Leviathan, Bahamut, and Ifrit. Each has other epithets as well as an associated element over which they claim dominion, but collectively they're simply called the Astrals.

That's true. Personally, I'd go for whichever seemed the most likely to end eventually. But - [He spreads his hands] - I've got the rest of time to wait for that to happen.

Do you think we will end up helping them in the end, then?

[Because that didn't sound like it was necessarily in the cards.]

[He actually isn't sure how to describe it right off, and it's obvious.]

The climate' s kind of all over- some of it's like this, some of it's desert, some of it's rainforest. A lot of it's covered in really deep ocean, though.

Other than that...I dunno. I can't tell you what a lot of the people are like, because I've mostly seen the worst of them. [He shrugs a little; he's trying to be flippant, but his voice isn't quite there, and there's something hard behind his words.] There's a lot going on, though, since we've had a couple of different maniacs trying to end the world over the past few years. And we don't have space travel, so if they fuck the place up it's game over. Humanity dies, that's it.

And it!! ... Well, the thing does float closer to her as it is prompted to, and then after examining the kibble shit and with some resigned look in it's eye, it leans in and... seems to suck the kibble into either its eye or that little black spot next to it. Either way, it sucks in and vanishes quickly.

[Michael claps a hand over his mouth as he lets out a delighted squeal that doesn't seem like it should be able to come out of someone who looks like him.]

It ate it!

[ I mean, she glances at her apathetic Beldum floating over there (she wishes she knew its name. But it won't be in the book of Sinnoh Pokemon) and she weighs her response, ]

Only if it wished for it. I am aware that I have no aptitude for battle myself... but it does feel exploitative. ... Wrong. Especially under the circumstances.

[ That said, she does hand Rey the book where it talks about stuff like type advantage and the like ]

It really did! ... Oh, that confirms that at the very least it must use more conventional food as a power source! I had read that some Sheikah technology functioned similarly!

[ That squeal is infectious. She can't help but be delighted too, albeit surprised. ]

May I? [Scooping out another handful of Pokefood, he nods at the Beldum.]

It's been quite a while since I've had the time to "play". [ He closes his eyes, mouth relaxing into a smile. ] I suppose if it helps this one, I'm happy to oblige.  

[ But it seems he's not sure exactly how, given that he's still very much holding his Litleo's paw in a dainty way. ]

Yeahhh... [sigh] I was looking around that casino earlier. Looks like those people had their hands in that, too.

Yeah! I heard that once, and I'm pretty good at remembering what I hear.

Whoa. You didn't seem like the type! Though I guess every priest I've seen was going around in their uniform. Is uniform even the right word for that?

And we've apparently been here for who knows how long, too...

I didn't read through them all, but I'm pretty sure those books were saying they fight each other, not you...

[Her Maractus tilts its head a little, still wearing that loud yellow hat. The seeds in the protrusions on its head shake.]

Some of those names are familiar to me, but their story is not the same.

[The fact that there's any familiarity at all is really something, though.]

[ To be fair, Zelda was probably noticed long before she arrived she's not precisely a stealth master nor is she trying to be. she's just sort of walking around outside tonight, still uncertain about going to the center, pitching a tent, or going to one of the public residences. ]

[ Which it... is? sort of? It does float closer, still sort of line-eyed but ... it does suck up one or two of them. ]

We have to help them. That's something I'm not going to change my mind about.

[Kiryu sure is determined to find a way, no matter how difficult it ends being. This is faaaaar beyond the scope of what he's used to deal with, but he'll try nonetheless]
