Week 1.

WEEK 1.

As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning.

Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim.

It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being.

However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes...

Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good.

CURRENT LOCATION: VEILSTONE CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week one of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!

Feel free to investigate the city as you see fit this week; we ask only that you try to stagger investigations and be mindful of what's already been checked. If you wish to investigate, notify the mods in your comment subject for your top-level and we'll get on it as soon as possible!]

Very well, I suppose there's no harm in that. The legends claim mortals were created by a hexatheon that was sworn to watch over our world; Titan, Ramuh, Shiva, Leviathan, Bahamut, and Ifrit. Each has other epithets as well as an associated element over which they claim dominion, but collectively they're simply called the Astrals.

[Eustace makes a noise of interest...and perhaps some mild surprise. Huh.]

Some of those names are familiar to me, but their story is not the same.

[The fact that there's any familiarity at all is really something, though.]

...Now I'm a bit curious myself. Would you care to elaborate?

[personal profile] thunderwolf 2018-06-05 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

[He crosses his arms, inwardly preparing how to go about describing this...]

The Astrals were beings that tried to reign over the world a while ago. They made primal beasts to use as weapons in the war with the skydwellers. Most of the primal beasts are dormant now, but sometimes they wake up and cause problems for us.

["Cause problems" is putting it lightly.]

Some of the names you listed match a couple primal beasts that I've heard of.

[Well. That certainly was a lot to process.]

Similarly, the Astrals were dormant for some two thousand years. Most of them, at least.

I can't say I've heard of skydwellers or primal beasts before--which ones had the same names?

[It's strange to be sure...but he's starting to see Cynthia's point about multiple worlds being involved here.

...]

Leviathan, Bahamut, Ifrit. Primal beasts hold elemental affinities as well, but some are more powerful than others.

...Let me guess. Water, fire, and....light was Bahamut’s, I think. I was never very clear on that.

Dark is the speculation for Bahamut, but correct otherwise.

[...]

Interesting coincidences.

Is it, now? That's...a remarkable difference.

[Ignis seemed thoughtful about that, if only for a brief moment.]

Leviathan most often takes the form of a massive sea serpent--she's also called Tidemother or the Hydraean. Ifrit was more humanoid, if far larger than any ordinary person. He was called the Infernian, or...Pyreburner, if memory serves.

[No kidding on Bahamut's difference. Pretty much the opposite for their respective Bahamuts.]

That fits the description for our Leviathan as well. Ifrit...I believe the information I have is that it is reptile-like, but bipedal.
