Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. It...actually gets something of a conflicted expression out of Camilla, because christ that's bad but. What can you really do? If the war is already over, then they at least have a chance of being able to recover from something like that. Something like this, it's...]

...What a terrible mess. What would someone have to gain out of trying to goad a war out of both sides? That simply makes no sense.

You did mention that when we were in that insufferable place. She sounds like a true boon, but perhaps also the reason for the lack of creativity when they can simply ask for whatever they wish. Poor woman must be overworked.

Oh, it's just my Pokemon at this time...I've never had any experience fighting hand to hand. Were I to improvise some sort of weaponry out of something from the department store, or gods forbid, a particularly sturdy stick, I would be more than happy to lead by example for my darlings.

[Hmm. Camilla finds her head tilting the slightest bit in curiosity.]

That's not a bad idea. I've seen a couple of them around—they don't look much better than our two friends here. [ If they're gonna look around though, he probably needs to free up his hands. Reluctantly, he nudges Inkay forward so it'll start floating on its own.

It does without any complaint. He gives the pokemon a nod before addressing Shirou again. ] Wanna start looking around now?

The guy who started all of it wanted to take over the guilds. Honestly, I'm not sure what he expected. If the Empire won the war and killed the Don, the guilds wouldn't exactly have any freedom anymore. And if the guilds won somehow, the Don wouldn't be dead. So...

[Yuri shrugs. Barbos, man. Who knows what was going on in that guy's head.]

The second instance made a little more sense, but only because it was being spearheaded by a guy who was selling weapons to both sides. He also wanted to get rid of the Don. Unfortunately, this attempt succeeded, even though it didn't lead to war.

Probably angry at themselves, mostly.

A lot of devastation and feeling lost.

[Yeah, there's no doubt he's talking about personal experience here because wow.]

They seem at least as capable as the monsters I'm familiar with. But I haven't seen everything they can do, though, so it's possible they're way more powerful.

I asked her what she wanted to be called and she replied with "rock", so that's where it came from. It'd be cuter if her species name wasn't "Rockruff". Apparently these guys just say their species name sometimes, I just wasn't aware of that.

[He doesn't seem embarrassed by it, though. If anything it's kind of funny?]

Some of 'em have been pretty great so far. I wasn't exactly expecting to experience all the things I have, but I'm not complaining either.

Would calling out to them be enough? Unfortunately, I haven't memorized all their names yet, it seems there are many kinds according to the literature here. [ Wait, speaking of that he adds with a smile. ] Allow me to introduce myself as well, I am Shirou Kotomine.

Ah no, that won't be necessary. Just Shirou is more than enough. I hope you don't mind if I call you Aya?

[He sighs, but keeps stirring.]

Cynthia said the lake spirits would be our best bet. I assume they're gods of sorts themselves. With any luck, they're aware of things like Cynthia is-- I'm not sure why she got spared from all of this, if even we weren't.

That's interesting, actually - it's the reverse for Golett and I. Jake has been teaching me some hand-to-hand combat, and I managed to find a staff among the equipment. That's my weapon of choice whenever I don't have my Lightsaber.

....do they seem to enjoy the training? Your Pokemon, I mean. I know they're used for battling but I haven't really been sure how to involve Golett in my own training.
