Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. [ Such boundless optimism is refreshing to see, and Shirou can't help but smile in earnest. It was a little too easy to get lost in the dry facts of their situation, but Johan was right. No matter what, even when it seemed like all paths were closed, there were always miracles.

He pats Litleo's head again, a bit more enthusiastically this time (but still just as awkwardly, it's clear he's never had a pet before in his life). ]

A second chance for this world and all of the living creatures here, then. Ah—perhaps we should try to help the pokemon who are on the outside as well.

That's not a bad idea. I've seen a couple of them around—they don't look much better than our two friends here. [ If they're gonna look around though, he probably needs to free up his hands. Reluctantly, he nudges Inkay forward so it'll start floating on its own.

It does without any complaint. He gives the pokemon a nod before addressing Shirou again. ] Wanna start looking around now?

[hesychast]

Yes, let's. [ He stands and looks around the area—they can either go into the city or explore the edges (and meteor craters). ]

Would calling out to them be enough? Unfortunately, I haven't memorized all their names yet, it seems there are many kinds according to the literature here. [ Wait, speaking of that he adds with a smile. ] Allow me to introduce myself as well, I am Shirou Kotomine.

[rainbowlife]

Johan Anderson, it's nice to meet you. [ He smiles back like he didn't neglect to introduce himself earlier. He'd hold his hand out for Shirou to shake but he's a little distracted by what Shirou said about the pokemon. ]

But don't worry about not knowing them all yet. It sounds like there's a lot of these little guys out here—I imagine it'll take us a while to learn all their names. [ A really long while. Briefly, he wonders if there are more Duel Monsters or Pokemon. His instincts say Duel Monsters, but who can really tell? AS he wonders this, he steps forward in the grass and starts parting it gently. ]

[hesychast]

Likewise. [ They can both exchange friendly smiles in lieu of proper introduction timing. ]

I imagine so, but I still intend to remember all their names. Or the ones I encounter, at least. [ Ruler class tendencies, you know? He follows behind Johan, but he honestly doesn't see much considering he's only 5'5". ]

[ It's cool, it's cool. He's used to traveling with people who are (barely) shorter than him. Though he's also used to following them around rather than leading them but details. ]

I wouldn't mind learning them too. Maybe when we're on the road, we can study together. [ While he's not the best at studying, he doesn't mind if it's something like this. It just seems respectful to learn all the different names and types of pokemon—but maybe that's the duelist in him talking. ]

[hesychast]

Certainly, that sounds like a good idea. I don't consider myself skilled at many things, but I do have a good memory.

[ Less Ruler class and more how old are you really Shirou speaking here. But for now, it's probably best to focus on finding pokemon and melting their hearts with overly friendly smiles. Who's going to be their first victim! ]

[ Shirou's a grandpa and one day he'll come to terms with it. Moving on, moving on. Let's say... Chingling? Yeah, Chingling! A few minutes after walking through the grass the sound of bells gently ringing can be heard.

Johan stops and blinks. ]

Bells?

[hesychast]

[ He's young at heart (and body), okay. But huh, bells. ]

We're far enough away from the town, so it must be coming from a pokemon... Over there, I think I saw a flash of something red. [ Good thing the grass provides a nice contrast, though the tinkling of bells helps too. ]

[rainbowlife]

Good eye! [ He says that but he probably noticed it to. He's not used to having things pointed out to him though, he's usually the one who does the pointing.

With a skip in his step, he cautiously dives through the grass to try and get to the aforementioned "red thing." Since the pokemon isn't trying too hard to hide, it doesn't take much effort for him to sift through the grass and find where the ringing is coming from. Once he spots it, he leans in. ] Whoa... So there are pokemon like this out here too?

What a unique appearance. I wonder if it's artificial... [ The words are out of his mouth before he realizes it—he can't help that Chingling's metal looking body reminds him of Avicebron's golems. ]
