Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. I don't know, but it's worth a try, isn't it? I mean, people on TV talk about colour theory and stuff. What did you name yours?

I haven't named this guy yet. [He steps aside. Say hello, Pancham! Or...just stare blankly, that's fine too] Didn't think about naming him. Why, did you give your... [That's a cactus, now that he takes a good look. Wow] ...companion a name?

I was trying to think of one. I mean, individuality's important, right? Since this Cyrus guy hates it so much. Hmm, how about... [She points to a random item on the shelf.] Repel? No, that won't work, that just sounds mean.

[takestheblame]

Let's see... [This is the guy who named a chicken Nugget. He looks at Maractus. Durian? Desert? Oasis? Several words came to mind, but...]

I think it'd be unfair of me to suggest a name. It's your companion -- it'll be more meaningful if you give it a name.

[niceoppai]

Hmm... [She randomly points again. This time, she gets the vending machine.] Uh... I guess "Drink" is a little weird. "Water" or... what's in there, anyway? Lemonade? Oh, that's cute, actually! There, one problem solved.

[The Maractus tilts its head only slightly, keeping the hat on.]

And I guess about a million to go.

Lemonade is a good name. It suits it.

[...in some weird, unusual way. At least it's memorable!]

I'll have to think of one for this guy here. [You still have to say hello, Pancham] Hard to think of one when he...doesn't have a personality.

Hmm. Well, he looks like some kinda bear, right? And he has grass, so maybe it's like when people in movies chew on grass outside the school! Maybe that's the kind of personality he used to have.

[takestheblame]

You mean like one of those kids who do something to seem...cooler.

[Are you a bad boy, Pancham? Hah! But yeah, this is a start. Maybe he can work with this...]

Yeah! Though it's just a theory, of course.

[takestheblame]

[Kiryu grabs Pancham, holding him in the air and staring intensely to the eyes. Pancham just stares back blankly. At some point he utters a 'cham', as if vaguely questioning why he's being held in the air for so long. Until...]

Daigo.

[Kiryu smiles. Yes, that'll be a good one, he judges]

Hehe. Someone you know?

[takestheblame]

Yeah. Daigo's a kid I knew long ago. Using his father's name to get all he could, and asking me to take him to places kids shouldn't be at.

[And somehow he considered Kiryu a trustworthy adult and admired him. Kiryu has rather fond memories of Daigo]

He must be an adult now, it has been a decade since the last time I saw him.

And we've apparently been here for who knows how long, too...

[takestheblame]

...I hope not. There's someone under my care. I hope we haven't been here for too long

[The thought he may have been here for months or even years is terrifying to him]

Yeah... Man, all of this is just getting more confusing!
