Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. Someone usually has to make breakfast. I wonder if there's a kitchen around I could borrow.

[A shrug.] I can't imagine why we shouldn't. After all, we do need to regroup and gather supplies before setting out. We may yet be here for a few days.

Yeah... it's a change from rushing everywhere, but I'm worried they're gonna find us.

[discutio]

I suppose that hinges on how much one trusts Cynthia's word. Hesitant as I am, I'm inclined to believe she's working to our benefit.

[niceoppai]

Yeah, she seems nice enough. I don't agree with leaving everything to her, but I get why she wanted us to. We're just civilians to her.

[discutio]

Neither do I. But as it stands now, we haven't much choice but to go along with what she said while keeping in mind that we may need to help her whether she likes it or not.

[niceoppai]

No kidding. At least this time we're not on a time limit.

[discutio]

As far as we know.

[niceoppai]

What do you mean?

[discutio]

Piecing together all we've heard from Cynthia, I for one can't be certain our worlds don't face the same peril that befell this one. We don't even know with certainty how long we have been here.

What I mean is that if this problem isn't solved and we fail to return soon, I worry for the state of our homes.

[niceoppai]

That's true enough... So even if we aren't facing a time bomb, we still need to hurry.

[discutio]

Precisely. We've no need of rushing ahead, but by the same token we can't wait around for too long.

[niceoppai]

So a few days, tops, and then we go! We're gonna have to study maps now, aren't we.

[discutio]

...I have the distinct feeling that's better left to the rest of you.

[niceoppai]

Huh? ...Oh! Oh. Uh. ...Sorry...

[Her face sinks into her hands.]

Do try to relax. I was only joking, nothing more.

I'll leave the navigating to the rest of you; survival is more my own area of expertise.

What, like going around in the wilderness?

I've done my share of traveling, yes. What of it?

[niceoppai]

No, it's just cool! I mean, I'm more used to things like cars and ships, but still!

[discutio]

Oh--no, likewise. We've the same methods of travel where I'm from, but some places are simply inaccessible any way but on foot.

[niceoppai]

And I bet if these people had roads, they'd be all run down and we'd have to walk anyway.

[discutio]

Most likely, presuming they've not been maintained in however long.

It shouldn't be that terrible, even if we need to walk most of the way. We'll manage.

[niceoppai]

I guess so. We're just in the one region of the one planet, anyway, so it's not like we need to be going all over the place.
