Week 1.
WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the PokƩmon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week one of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend! Feel free to investigate the city as you see fit this week; we ask only that you try to stagger investigations and be mindful of what's already been checked. If you wish to investigate, notify the mods in your comment subject for your top-level and we'll get on it as soon as possible!] |

Oh, I'm working on a little project for my darling partner! [Camilla pulls up the unfinished blanket with a prideful smile.] Isn't it perfect? I picked out the colors to perfectly match with him. He'll be able to sleep perfectly soundly, once we start to journey off--I'm sure of it!
[She is going to start taking Roc's measurements, though! And probably pet her a little, because holy shit that is such a cute dog. Who's a good dog, who's a good surprisingly small dog--]
Might I make something for your partner as well?
no subject
Hey, that's a great idea. Your pal will probably appreciate it, especially if it gets any colder.
[He watches as Camilla takes Roc's measurements and when she asks, he nods.]
That's really nice of you. I don't really have a way to repay you for it, though.
no subject
[Ah, yes, perfect for the one who is basically just...sniffing into space, basically. Not having eyes doesn't let it do much.
The response gets a bit of a chuckle from Camilla, and she winds up raising a hand up to hide her expression of amusement.]
I'm not going to insist on one. I'm quite happy to have something to do, as it stands. It's keeping my mind off of thinking about the situation too much...
no subject
[He'll take a seat nearby, he's actually not sitting on the floor for once! Shocking.]
It's probably good to keep your hands busy, especially with something useful like this. I've never had much of a talent for anything creative. Except maybe cooking, if that counts.
no subject
No, she shouldn't think about that right now. She'll speak up before the silence becomes anymore awkward.]
It absolutely counts. You would be surprised about how many people can be utterly abysmal at something like that. [Oh, the stories she could tell...] I have always found sewing and embroidery to be rather relaxing things to do. It requires so much of your focus, so your mind isn't allowed to wander.
[She's gonna go plucking through some of her fabrics, holding up swatches to Roc. Mostly trying to decide what color would go well with her...]
no subject
[There are some things he really does need to sit down and think about, like Cyrus and everything he's done to this world, but worrying nonstop about the people back home isn't helpful. He knows the other members of Brave Vesperia are very capable, and Rita and Estelle can look after themselves. There's also the old man, but he should be fine. But the Adephagos...]
So what prompted you to pick up sewing as a hobby?
[Roc is perfectly content to stand still and let Camilla do her thing, she'll occasionally glance over but otherwise the Rockruff doesn't move.]
no subject
Ahaha...well, every girl in Nohr is taught to sew by another lady, at one point in their life. It is rather expected of a lady, after all. But I really did enjoy it, because it allowed my siblings to rely on me to help them. I could mend their clothing oh so easily once they were done training, and their clothing would look good as new by the time I was done. It made them so happy...
[She'll go back to her swatches once she's done, deciding to use more of the black fabric.]
What about yourself, with your cooking abilities?
[Maybe it'll help get his mind off those things.]
no subject
[Yuri reclines a bit in his seat, tipping his head back and looking up at the ceiling as he thinks about how to answer Camilla's question.]
I never really knew my parents, so I was more or less raised by Flynn's. His dad tried to teach us some simple recipes, but I took to it better than Flynn ever did. I didn't learn anything more complicated until recently. There's this guy called the Wonder Chef who shows up sometimes and teaches you how to make a new dish. He's kind enough to give you ingredients to practice with too. So a lot of what I've learned has been from him.
[tales of vesperia is so dumb.]
no subject
[Camilla listens to that; the beginning is certainly understandable enough, although it's definitely sad. It sounds like he at least had a good life, though, with Flynn's parents.
...But man, not even she can hide her slightly amused, almost perplexed expression at this...Wonder Chef. What? What the actual hell?]
...My, what an interesting fellow. If what he's teaching you has been showing results, however, I suppose that speaks to his skill. I take it that he must be world famous for simply going around and teaching others...
[Like, what the fuck. That is some weird stuff.]
I find it rather incredible, really. There aren't any sorts like that in Nohr.
no subject
[i'm so sorry, camilla]
He's a good guy, though.
...So, tell me a bit about Nohr. Is that your world or the city you're from or something?
no subject
[...Man, Nohr...it gives her a bit of a pause, honestly, and she seems to shift most of her focus toward her project for Roc.]
It's a country, actually; I come from the city of Windmire, myself. It's a rather stormy place, where only the hardiest of plants and animals survive. It has made the people there rather adaptive in such situations, though the lack of light within the land itself makes it far more preferable for those to stay in their houses. It makes the people far less...colorful, I suppose, and I'm tempted to call that a shame.
[And that's just scratching the surface, jesus christ]
no subject
Sounds like a rough place. Have you lived there your whole life?
no subject
[That's gonna get an even more noticeable pause there, like she's considering her words here. How much she wants to say, and such...]
...Why don't you tell me about where you're from? If it houses such colorful characters, it must be a rather peaceful sort of realm, I would assume.
[...so she decides to sidestep the subject entirely, good job Camilla.]
no subject
I wouldn't exactly call it peaceful. We've got monsters lurking just outside the barriers protecting the cities, and just in the past few months we've nearly seen at least two different wars. Thankfully both of those were averted, but it's not exactly a peaceful place.
[He leans back and folds his arms behind his head as he considers. How to describe Terca Lumireis...]
It's not bad, though. Tensions are high between the Empire and the guilds, but things are getting better.
no subject
...How utterly dreadful. [Like, in general, honestly.] I suppose we're fortunate, in that regard; it sounds as if your world has dealt with many hardships of it's own.
[...Kind of. Sort of. It's Complicated, okay. Camilla goes back to work on the project with a bit of a curious look.]
What happened to cause such a conflict between them, if I may?
no subject
Things nearly escalated when a false letter was sent to the Don - leader of the guilds. It was basically calling for his blood. Another fake letter was sent to the knights to try to rile everyone up. It almost came to blows, but Flynn was able to stop it.
...I didn't get to see much of what went on, I was chasing after the guy who was trying to start the war. We caught him, but he ended up dying.
[it's kind of sad that i have to clarify that yuri did not kill him]
no subject
It...actually gets something of a conflicted expression out of Camilla, because christ that's bad but. What can you really do? If the war is already over, then they at least have a chance of being able to recover from something like that. Something like this, it's...]
...What a terrible mess. What would someone have to gain out of trying to goad a war out of both sides? That simply makes no sense.
[like, they sound like they have plenty of precedence to go at each other's throats entirely on their own? couldn't the guy have just waited???
of course, she says this, completely unaware that this is basically the plot of revelations]
no subject
The guy who started all of it wanted to take over the guilds. Honestly, I'm not sure what he expected. If the Empire won the war and killed the Don, the guilds wouldn't exactly have any freedom anymore. And if the guilds won somehow, the Don wouldn't be dead. So...
[Yuri shrugs. Barbos, man. Who knows what was going on in that guy's head.]
The second instance made a little more sense, but only because it was being spearheaded by a guy who was selling weapons to both sides. He also wanted to get rid of the Don. Unfortunately, this attempt succeeded, even though it didn't lead to war.
[fuckin' yeager, goddamn]
