Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. [ There was certainly a lot to think about with yesterday's meeting, but hey, while he took the time to sort of think about things, it was never a bad idea to do outings with your Pokemon. So, Ventus is here with his Klefki, taking a long look at his surroundings.

That being said, when he's rounding a corner in the city, he may not be paying all that much attention of what's in front of him due to looking at his environment, and checking to make sure his companion is following him. So he quite literally might be walking into Emmeryn provided she doesn't have the time to evade this curious boy. ]

[Emmeryn, for one, is always paying entirely too much attention, so she manages one big step back before she's crashed into without much more than a gasped oh! Her Bagon, on the other hand, does not care what's going on around them in the slightest, so the real risk here is that Ventus is going to trip over him instead.

Godspeed.]

[ventulus]

[ Godspeed, indeed.

Unfortunately, Ventus finds himself tripping over the Pokemon instead, and falls flat on his face because we can't have nice things.

Klefki just continues to linger there, being useless, because of course. ]

Ow...oh, are you two alright?

[ He sat up almost immediately, looking over at Emmeryn and her Bagon. ]

Oh, dear—I'm quite all right, but are you? That was quite a tumble...

[She's quick to reach out and offer Ventus a hand up. Bagon just sort of...sits on the ground, largely uninterested in the proceedings.]

[ventulus]

[ Ventus takes her hand, and once he's standing to his full, amazing height, he gives her sheepish grin even there being a small mark on his forehead from the fall. ]

I think I'll be okay. I've tumbled through worse...thanks, though.

[ He looks over at the Bagon. ]

What about your Pokemon? It doesn't look like I hurt it, but...

[divinedescendant]

[she takes his hand in both her own as she helps him up, and gives his hand a light pat and squeeze before she lets him go; she's known this boy for thirty seconds and she already is on the road to developing an ulcer worrying about him. yikes]

He's a tough little fellow. [She crouches down towards her Bagon and pats his head. He doesn't so much as shift, which is...unsettling, but at least probably confirms he isn't hurt??] I'm so sorry he got in your way.

[ventulus]

[ Well, with how frequently this boy gwts into trouble, she may as well...

Either way, he's looking pretty relieved. ]

No, it's fine... I kind of wasn't paying attention to where I was going. You see, there was so much to see and I also didn't want to lose my partner somehow. As silly as that sounds.

[ Granted when she moves the keys jingle, but shh. ]

[divinedescendant]

Oh, it isn't silly at all! The city is so vast and lovely, so of course there's plenty to see. And it's good to see you being so responsible with your new friend already.

[ventulus]

Thanks. I try my best.

[ Ventus rubs the top of his nose proudly. You know, in the way some people do. ]

Oh, and we haven't really gotten a chance to exchange names, right? I'm Ventus, but you can call me Ven.

[divinedescendant]

I am Emmeryn, of Ylisse. [She nods her head politely.] Strange as the circumstances are, I am happy to meet you, Ven.

[ventulus]

Yeah, same!

[ Even if he tumbled into their meeting it looks like everything turned out fine. ]

Say, what's Ylisse like?

[divinedescendant]

[Emmeryn takes a couple of short steps that could be misconstrued for her trying to leave except that she says, ] Here, come walk with me. [She won't keep going unless he follows, of course, but this way they can both soak in the sight of the city. In part, it's because she needs a moment to decide how best to describe her beloved home in response to so vague a question.]

The holy kingdom shares its name with the continent. Its people are hardy and brave, but peaceful in their perseverance. [And then, a little playfully:] And the weather is much warmer than this, too.

[ventulus]

[ Ventus does follow, kind of like a puppy does that's attached to the hip. That being said, he keeps looking behind himself to make sure Klefki is following along too. ]

That sounds nice. I bet the warmer weather's even better if there's a beach nearby.

[ Taking note of the important things as always. ]
