Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. [Zelda's demeanor and speech feels familiar, compared to all of the absolutely everything Emmeryn's afterlife-or-whatever-the-fuck-is-happening-here is shaping the hell up to be so far. It relaxes her some, even if she still stays her usual steady self as she makes room for Zelda to walk beside her.]

It's marvelous, isn't it? I feel much the same, really. At home, the Halidom's capital crawls up a mountainside, but even it doesn't come so close to the sky. It's all...unfamiliar, but stunning.

An entire city up a mountainside? That must be quite the site as well... my vision for that would be the Rito village, which crawls up a central spire.

[ That said, looking back at the Galactic base, as imposing as it is... ]

Not like this, though.

Ah, not quite an entire city, but parts of the castle town are set in the mountain where the palace sits on the peak...

[But she follows Zelda's gaze towards the Galactic base, only briefly before she turns back to her and smiles.]

How lucky we are indeed, then, to have such lovely and unique things about our homes to remember, too.

Oh, certainly. [ A castle town set in the mountains... That really does sound amazing ] The Hyrule castle town rests at the northern edge of Hyrule fields, but the castle itself is on an island. Long ago, a moat was dug, but that moat merges with the Hylia and Regencia Rivers, resulting in it feeling much less manmade than it would otherwise.

[ . . . ]

... I am pleased that I can remember.

[Though she doesn't break stride, Emmeryn is quiet for one short moment, like she's giving that statement the time it needs and deserves to settle.]

And a memory shared will be one difficult to lose, so I am just as pleased that you have told me.

[ she was so worried she could have forgotten things - and she did, by the sound of what Cynthia said. Her cheeks color a little at this woman's bearing. It's...

Mmm ]

Yes, I... memories shared to others can allow them to live on. Even when they are lost to one person.

[She hums, lightly, as much in agreement as in consideration—then stops walking, a little abruptly, so she can turn to face Zelda properly.]

Oh, goodness, my apologies, here I am prattling on like this when I haven't even asked your name.

I did hope to ask yours too.

[ Sheepishly, she shakes her head and then stands of straighter, looking up at the other and says, ]

My name is Zelda.

[Smiling, Emmeryn dips her head in a polite little nod.]

I am Emmeryn. I know the circumstances are strange and the uncertainty weighs heavy, but even so, it's a pleasure to meet you, Zelda.

It is a pleasure to meet you too, Emmeryn. [ It's weird, she finds herself sounding even more formal than usual. ] Certainly we shall be working together in this, and I look forward to it.
