Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. I did. [Kiryu steps aside. Say hello, Pancham. ...nope, still not happening] This is Daigo.

[Kiryu seems happy about having named his companion]

Daigo. [She coos a little, even if the Pancham is just absolutely not having anything to do with her or anyone.] How precious.

[She leans over enough to pat her Bagon's head.] I think I've settled on Duma for this one. A name is such an important thing.

Why Duma?

[Is that...a reptile? Looks like a reptile of some sort. These Pokemon are such strange creatures]

There's an old legend about the kingdom to the west of my home. In ancient times, it was ruled by twin dragons. The brother, Duma, was the Kingshield who kept his people steady and strong.

In return, then, may I ask why Daigo?

[Kiryu crouches to take a better look at Bagon. So blue. He can't remember animals so blue, other than fishes]

So this is a dragon...certainly looks steady and strong.

[Good name!]

Daigo's a kid I knew back at home. Using his father's name to get stuff and behaving like the big bad kid in town even though he was just in elementary school. [Daigo did have a lot of power due to his name, but he was such a brat, in Kiryu's opinion. At least he put Daigo in his place with some scolding] Pancham reminds me of him in some odd way. Someone said the leaf he has may be just to look cooler.

[Duma, for one, has absolutely no interest in anything going on around him, and just sort of manages vague, unsettling eye contact with Kiryu at best when he crouches down. N...ice. Great.

Emmeryn, meanwhile, laughs a little, light and friendly behind her hand.]

How absolutely darling. A name that brings you back home in some small way is certainly something special.

Yeah...it feels right. [He frowns, that has been bothering him for a while:] We may have been here for a long time. I don't want to think exactly for how long...

[He just hopes his daughter is okay]

[Emmeryn's friendly expression doesn't fade, but something melancholy touches it now, too.]

Moving through the uncertainty isn't easy, is it? But that means there's something tethering us to the place we belong while we're in this strange land, and that we have something worth persevering through what may come for.

Do you think we'll have a chance to find out what's going on at home?

[Although that's a double-edged sword. If things are going badly, then he's going to get even more stressed and worried]

[She doesn't answer that one immediately, taking a moment to think it over as the question deserves.]

I wish I could say. We may or may not find answers while we're still here, but if there was a way here, there is a way back. That, I would imagine, matters first and foremost.

[the opposite is true for her tbqh but look, she's trying to be reassuring]

Are you in a hurry to return home?

[She seems rather serene, like she has complete control over the situation and it doesn't bother her. Maybe that's just how she is like.

Also what kind of question is that, Kiryu, who isn't in a hurry to return home for one reason or another]

WELL,]

In truth, I can afford to spend more time here than I'd imagine is the case for many of the rest of us. Still, I'd like to see everyone safely returned to the people they love and the place they belong.

[she answers that as calmly as anything but rest assured she's internally screaming, just a li'l]
