Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. Blade Drifts?

[He turns to look at Yuri carefully, because with a name like that, Bucky's not sure what he could be talking.]

Yeah. Massive ice-covered fields with giant blades sticking out of them. We weren't there for very long, we were just passing through. Definitely the coldest place in Terca Lumireis, though.

Giant blades? Were they made of ice or metal?

[He's trying to picture it in his head, and failing.]

Metal. I have no idea who made those swords or how they came to be there, but it was definitely creepy.

[Not that he sounds all that bothered by it??]

A race of giants, maybe?

[That's a joke. Please understand that it's a joke.]

Honestly? I wouldn't be surprised. There's a lot about the world we don't know, so a race of giants isn't completely out of the question.

[He's sort of smirking but is he serious or joking...??]

[Look, he's going to hope the guy is joking, but also he's talking about giants swords in the snow.]

No stranger than these guys, anyway.

Yeah. There certainly seem to be a lot of 'em.

[He's going to find the book on Sinnoh Pokémon and despair. Why are there so many...]

We each got a different one, didn't we? And Cynthia told me Flora here can turn into something else. I'm not sure how that works, I have to admit.

Sounds kind of like evolution. Ba'ul evolved after taking in enough aer; he got bigger and his form changed a bit. It was pretty impressive.

[i promise he's not making this up]

[Bucky opens and closes his mouth three times before he's finally able to speak, and his voice is pitched higher than normal when he does.]

Is that so?

Yep.

[Fun fact: The Scopes Monkey Trial was in 1925, so Bucky would have been around eight years old when it happened. Living in Brooklyn means he wouldn't have been affected by something in Tennessee, but he absolutely heard about it.

With that in mind, you can understand why he's looking at Yuri like he's just grown three heads.]

I guess it could be something like that.
