Week 1.

WEEK 1.

As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning.

Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokรฉmon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim.

It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being.

However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes...

Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good.

CURRENT LOCATION: VEILSTONE CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week one of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!

Feel free to investigate the city as you see fit this week; we ask only that you try to stagger investigations and be mindful of what's already been checked. If you wish to investigate, notify the mods in your comment subject for your top-level and we'll get on it as soon as possible!]

[Oh, Camilla has absolutely no problem with that. Camilla winds up grabbing some knitting needles instead and starts to work with some grey yarn...]

It is always good to have. Clothes are known to tear rather easily, especially if they're beautiful...what do you like to do then, Zelda? You must keep some interesting hobbies.

Perhaps not so interesting... to others at least. I've always loved to study, to ready and experiment. Living as a scholar.

[ She sounds somewhat embarrassed to say it, but that's... what she is, right? ]

Oh, darling, there's nothing wrong with that!

[Camilla seems almost mock offended when she says that, though she's quick to go back to a smile.]

Why, that's a lovely way to live. My little brother does the same such thing; he experiments with all sorts of different magic, and reads to become a scholarly young man. I find his work ethic to be admirable, and yours sounds like it could match his.

[ The woman's words make her smile more. Not that she was expecting rejection per se but... so many (her father) had told her it was a distraction. and so to embrace it wholehearted...ly is nice. ]

My studies are far more in the realm of the ancient technology of the Sheikah, dotted throughout the world. Or the natural world itself!

Ancient technologies, hm? What have you found out about them, dear?

[Color her curious, if nothing else. That sort of thing doesn't interest Camilla in the slightest, but it's honestly nice to hear Zelda so enthusiastic!]

A great deal, actually! What research and exploration I have been involved with was continued by two friends of mine, but even what I directly touched allowed us to gain control of the Guardians, automated weapons that the ancient Sheikah made in order to combat the Calamity thousands of years ago. We found numerous shrines as well, and translated documents which led us to the great divine beasts, among other things.

[ She comes to life here. ]

[Oh, Camilla listens fervently when Zelda practically blossoms in front of her--it's honestly adorable as hell? Like, you go girl, you study the fuck out these things.]

Oh, how wonderful! Such things like that are usually lost to time, aren't they? I certainly hope that such a calamity hasn't forced the need of such things again, but...

[Camilla looks at what she's got so far knit--it kind of looks like a giant sock/glove?--and seems to nod her head, before looking back to Zelda.]

What sort of divine creatures exist where you come from? Tell me about them; I imagine they must be truly beautiful creatures.

[ I mean, she gives a weird look because... it did. It definitely did. But while that isn't a secret or anything, correcting for that sounds awkward in terms of breaking her flow. So instead she taps a finger on the counter, tapping it off on her fingers. ]

I say Divine Beasts, but that is only what we've chosen to call them. They are truly massive weapons, equally ... no, greater in size than that "Department Store" we both went to today. But despite their awe-inspiring scale and power, they were actually made by people. The ancient Sheikah constructed them too.

We have discovered four, each tied to the one of the principle tribes of people in Hyrule. The Zora have Vah Ruta, the Gorons Vah Rudania, the Rito Vah Medoh, and the Gerudo Vah Naboris. Each have different capabilities and forms, often reflecting the abilities of each of the tribes.

Vah Ruta, for example, has the form of a four legged animal with a long nose-like appendage at the front, and is capable of producing almost limitless water, reflecting the aquatic nature of the Zora themselves.

[Woah. It's easy to see Camilla's eyes widen when Zelda talks about them--not only their size, but the idea that these beings who very much sound like gods in their own right could be made by people themselves, it's...]

To think that people could make such things...I suppose that goes to show what can be done if one puts their mind to such things. They sound absolutely incredible to behold, and if they weren't made by people...I would almost consider them akin to the gods we have at home.

You say that Vah Ruta creates near limitless water...if I would to garner a guess, would that mean that the others are associated with elements of their own?
hyruglyphics: (weeee)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-08 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
In a way, yes! Vah Rudania is a lizard-like machine capable of withstanding incredible heat - it is more than capable of resting somewhat comfortably within the caldera of a volcano, and because of that can influence Death Mountain. Vah Medoh is actually capable of flight, despite it's size! It can soar through the air with impunity, higher even than most Rito can fly. And Vah Naboris can create lightning storms, both storing and unleashing that energy as it or the champion who pilots it needs to.

[ She explains it all in an excited but matter of fact tone, not wanting to embellish, but also not wanting to undersell them. Because she is astounded too by the idea that they could be made by people. ]

[personal profile] anythingforyou 2018-06-08 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my...

[And she thought the dragons and wolfskin were interesting creatures. These ones sound absolutely powerful.]

And to think that all we have are the dragons...I certainly wouldn't want to be on the adversarial side of one of them. They sound more powerful than most would be able to comprehend!
hyruglyphics: (nearly at 50!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-08 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I wouldn't count out dragons! I am certain Naydra could free most of Vah Ruta's water if it were so inclined.

[ A fervent nod ]

Though of course, these weapons are meant only for the defeat of the Calamity...
