Week 1.
WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week one of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend! Feel free to investigate the city as you see fit this week; we ask only that you try to stagger investigations and be mindful of what's already been checked. If you wish to investigate, notify the mods in your comment subject for your top-level and we'll get on it as soon as possible!] |
a little investigation towards the end!
So he tracks down a murder of Murkrow near the meteor craters, looks for anything that might make them stand out as particularly worth catching, debates a bit... and then throws a Pokeball at one of them.
...AND HEY IT WORKS.]
...you know, it seems like it's supposed to be harder than that.
[WELL, ANYHOW, after catching his very second Pokemon, he's just kind of... roaming the city with his Frillish trailing behind and said Murkrow perched on his shoulder looking for any of the 24 people who have actual emotions here, because it's honestly less unnerving to interact with them than the locals. If he sees you (and you aren't someone who he actually hates at the moment, like Michael), he'll wave a bit cheerfully and approach with a question.]
Excuse me, would you like to help me with a project?
[After his little experiment, later on in the evening... he's going to check out the Galactic Warehouse. Like, certainly, it's locked, but maybe there's something there to find if he does a little searching...]
roams
Oh, certainly. [ ... does she know his name idek ]

I caught this Murkrow this morning, and while I've been taking the advice to have a varied team of Pokemon to heart, I'm interested in also teaching her to be a messenger.
Do you mind if I send you a letter at some point today or tomorrow? When she does, write or draw something on it to let me know you received it and ask her to deliver it back to me.
no subject
Of course you may, that... yes, that seems like a very worthwhile experiment. [ also she looks at the bird.
... And she's impressed at his quickness of comfort over this, wow. ]
no subject
[...it's kind of like a familiar right? honestly he doesn't like normal animals but Pokemon seem just far removed enough from normal animals that he's way more comfortable with them]

Experiment
[Kiryu can't say no to a request for help. What do you have in mind, Kayneth?]

[Kiryu seems to think Pokemon normally listens only to their trainer. A bit of a simplistic thought, really]

[He'll even clap, too! Look at that, you're a real Pokémon trainer now, Kayneth.]
What made you decide to catch this one?
no subject
[he hooks that ball on his belt!]
All the guides I’ve read have suggested raising a variety of Pokémon instead of just one, and I think this one might be helpful in dealing with Grass Pokémon, since I’ve found out the one I started with is Water and Ghost.
Also, I wanted a Pokémon that could fly in case I needed to send messages over a long distance. I don’t know how good she’ll be at that right out of the gate, but I think it’s best to try and be prepared.

[Sending messages, though...]
It's a pretty smart idea to try to train a bird for something like that. You think she'll be able to do it?
[While she's... you know. Like this.]

okay no they need key cards.]

Well, he'll head over to the warehouse yard to the left of the main building, then. He's not sure if anyone was careless enough to drop one of their key cards, but mmmmaybe he'll find something else?]

What kind of project?

Probably. Crows are smart as hell.

I'm listening.
[So...that's maybe a yes? He'll consider it.]
no subject
It’s nothing too strenuous, I hope- I’m training my Murkrow to serve as a messenger, so I’m asking various people if they’d mind if I had her fly a letter to them at some point in the near future.
no subject
At least Eustace seems pretty receptive to the experiment.]
Ah. Not a bad idea.
[They don't have access to more useful methods of long-distance communication (at least from what he's seen), so this would be a decent alternative.]
You expecting us to be split up at some point?
no subject
I'm not entirely sure how much of a threat Team Galactic or Cyrus are in this state, but I'd rather not be caught off guard if we have to split up to escape a bad situation.
