Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. It sounds like "Divine Beasts" are the right name for them.

I kinda want to see one.

And I would love to show you them! If we had but one of them here and someone who could pilot it, many of our worries would be over.

That sounds nice.

Maybe the lake spirits we're supposed to awaken will be like them. Big, impressive beasts.

[hyruglyphics]

I confess, I have been imagining them akin to the great fairies.

[ She says with a little bit of humor ]

Great fairies?

[That definitely gets his attention, looking curious.]

Spirits of great power, to whom people make offerings to look after their equipment or their villages. They take the form of beautiful women, and reside with ponds were lesser fairies convene.

[semistableman]

Man. Your world sounds so different from mine. I'd want to visit it, even if there's no way I could stay there.

[hyruglyphics]

Is there not?

[ She ... seems to laugh at something here, an idea the struck her. And she ends up saying, ]

And here I wished more than anything right now that I could speak with Vision, perhaps see what powers him!

I... have a lot of important things in my world. And Steve could never leave.

[His expression is easygoing, though.]

Vision has a power source in his head, but I don't know a lot about it; just that it functions a lot like a brain.

[ Who is Steve but more importantly, ]

That must be his core, then! Though now I wonder what sort of core could allow for such a complicated ... design as to make a person who could love like that. Robbie would definitely be fascinated, even more so than myself.

[semistableman]

[He frowns.]

You know, I'm not sure. I was never told how he came to be. But I'm sure he'd tell as much as he can.

[Which might not be much? He doesn't know; Bucky doesn't really know Vision at all.]

To talk with him at all would be endlessly fascinating. Being able to converse with an artificial lifeform, to ask their perspective on things... that sounds so wondrous to me.

[ . . . But you know what, Beldum, she wants to understand you a bit more too ]

I like being able to talk to people who have different perspectives than my own.

There's this man, T'Challa, when he and I first met we were... well, not friends is probably the nicest way of putting it. But we've really come to understand each other in the past couple of years, it's kind of nice.

[hyruglyphics]

I understand, I believe. ... It is easy to fail to understand someone correctly, isn't it?

[semistableman]

Yeah, it is.

I'm not the best at it myself, but I think making an effort to understand is important.

[hyruglyphics]

Honestly, you haven't seemed anything but wise to me, Bucky.

[ Like... just saying. ]

[semistableman]

[That makes him laugh quietly.]

Thanks. I... like to think I'm doing all right.

[hyruglyphics]

[ to which she gives her own little nod. And she considers standing to go but... well. Did he intend to start a fire? No, in a city like this there should be no need to. It was shockingly well lit at night. She would need to look into the lights later...

Man, her mind was going everywhere.

But it's true, Bucky had been impressive what few times she had seen him so far. ]
