Week 1.
WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. POKEMON AVAILABLE: WITHIN CITIES MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week one of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend! Feel free to investigate the city as you see fit this week; we ask only that you try to stagger investigations and be mindful of what's already been checked. If you wish to investigate, notify the mods in your comment subject for your top-level and we'll get on it as soon as possible!] |

Fortunately, he did promise Kiryu a fight; even when he's not doing that, though, he can be found in the gym for the better portion of the day, just...setting up punching bags and looking at his Scraggy like he's asking for input.
(Hlača, it should probably be noted, is currently wearing a cute as fuck dark blue jacket courtesy of Camilla. Between that and the pants and the goddamn suspenders, he literally has a full outfit. God help us all.)]
Come on, Hlača. Hit it or something.
[The Scraggy just stares at him for a moment before obediently getting into position and violently headbutting the shit out of the punching bag; it's obvious that that's not what Jake was expecting at all, but you know what, right now he will take literally anything.]
...Okay! I mean, I wasn't thinking with your face, but if that's what you wanna do then go for it. Hell yeah!
[So much blankstaring from Hlača, man. So much.
...Well, after a good amount of...that, whatever we're considering that, Jake can be found sitting near the southern entrance to the city; he's not going anywhere, don't worry, he just wants to be around less people. It looks like he's got food with him - some of those berries, you can buy them apparently - and he's passing some of them off to Hlača and trying to decide whether it's a good idea to actually eat any of them himself when he notices one of those Houndours that can be found around the place sitting nearby, just staring.]
Oh, hey. [Jake whistles at it a bit, but it either doesn't understand the meaning of that or it doesn't care; it just keeps on staring. Jake pauses for a moment before holding out one of the berries toward it.] You hungry? C'mere and take some of this weird blue fruit off my hands. I'll even keep Hlača from hitting you with his face.
[...That won't stop him from picking the dog up as soon as it gets close enough for him to do that, just to see if he can. The dog, predictably, gives not a single fuck, and long story short, that is how he ends up sitting there with a skullfaced puppy on his lap for way longer than he should, feeding it goddamn berries because he supposes it's just kind of his now.]

He wanders across Jake by accident, and he takes a moment to flip through the book to find the dog Pokémon Jake's got with him.]
"Houndour, the Dark Pokémon." Really? It's a Dark-type and they just call it "the Dark Pokémon"?
[He makes a face at that and instead holds up a hand in greeting.]
Hey, seems you've made a new friend.

Looks like it. She's behaving, anyway, and she doesn't seem too inclined to leave.
no subject
She's pretty cute. I'd say you got pretty lucky.
[You don't mind if he joins you, right? Well, he's taking a seat anyway. As usual, Roc comes and sits beside him and he pats her on the head.]

Luck's not usually my thing, so you know what? I'll take it.

Fighting always has been what I live for. It's what I make my living off of, and even when I'm not on the job it's the one thing I know I'm really good at. There's not much here for someone like me.
no subject
Well, hopefully we'll be able to do what we can for this world and figure out a way to get home soon. Wouldn't want you to be too bored here, yeah?
[It's light, but he thinks he gets it.]

...]
Guess its head must be built to fight like that.
[One can only hope.]

[He is so fucking confused and yet so pleased.]

[He'd seen Jake and his Scraggy around before them, and he's thinking back to that...]
Maybe it's used to having its hands busy.

Cute dog.
[Look at its little fangs!]
no subject
Cutest fuckin' dog in the city, if you ask me.
[...Jake, she doesn't care.]
no subject
[He's not about to disagree. Look at that cute pupper.]
You got a name picked out?
no subject
[His naming skills don't exist but it's in a foreign language so it's fine.]
no subject
That being said, he makes a strange noise that's between a cough and a laugh, bringing his hand to his face.]
Cute. It fits.

I'm still doing better than the Americans, they're unimaginative and they butcher the pronunciation every damn time. One outta two ain't bad.
You're good with languages, I'm guessing?
no subject
[A few, he says.]
That's why I'm goin' with names I already know. No possibility to mess it up.

It's actually pretty strange thinking about.
