Week 1.

WEEK 1. As Cynthia had promised, the sun does indeed rise the next morning. Whether you slept or not (and sleeping inside the Pokémon Center you were in before seems totally fine by the attendant), it seems Cynthia kept her word; she left sometime shortly before sunrise, and you haven't been bothered by Team Galactic and those that work for it in the interim. It isn't advisable to return to the headquarters building, however. At least not for the time being. However, a new day does dawn, and with it comes the knowledge that you're in an unfamiliar city, completely on your own. There are several things to be done before you can leave: gathering supplies and provisions, finding maps, obtaining new clothes... Of course, your new "companions" are still with you, and they don't seem willing to leave your side; they'll follow you dutifully, but they still seem...wrong, horribly so, and it doesn't seem to be wearing off. Maybe if you work with them a little...? Try to talk to them, train them, teach them to do things... Who knows? It might do them some good. [He'll glance at Daigo as he heads up; he'd say the little dude's got the spirit, at least, except for the part where he really obviously doesn't.]

I'm guessing that's the bear you were telling me about.

That's the one. This should keep it fit. [It's a good thing this stuff is made for Pokemon too. Better this than getting Daigo to go punch trees outside.

Kiryu makes his knuckles crack. He has to remind himself this is meant to be no more than a friendly match, and that injuring someone when they're about to start a journey through "the wilderness" isn't going to be of help. It'll be weird to pull his punches, but he'll have to -- and not doing his best means he could actually lose]

Got one piece of advice for you, if you don't mind hearing it.

[He bounces a little in place once he's in position, just kind of...preparing a little, mentally, though he is waiting on an answer from Kiryu before they start.]

[Kiryu squares himself, ready. The first few seconds are vital for a fight, either you defend yourself well or you attack. Can't be careless]

I've fought way worse things than you. Which isn't to say you can't kick my ass - maybe you can, maybe you can't, I won't know until we get started. But I can guarantee you can't fuckin' hurt me.

[He'll square up, the gesture easy.]

So if you're going to hold back on me because that uptight lady told us to? Yeah, I wouldn't recommend doing that.

[To someone who has never even seen fight Jake before, it sounds like a lot of bravado that may or may not have reasons to exist. He sure won't risk spraining or injuring someone when they haven't even left the first city!

Kiryu barely finished saying that when he bolts forward, having decided his strategy. He rears back an arm, swinging to the side of Jake's torso and preparing to follow it with the other fist onto the opposite side and upwards. His intent is mostly to drive Jake against the ropes]
