Week 14.

WEEK 14 Sunday is a rough day all around; it's for the best that you remain where you are for the day, for the sake of regrouping and recovering, and perhaps getting some sleep - assuming that any will come. However, as difficult though it may be (and as futile though it may seem) Monday is likely best seen as a day to depart - a day to start to take whatever actions can still be taken, and to assess where to go from here. A good place to start is Canalave City; it's where you were going to meet with Cynthia, and where you were planning on looking into the legends of Sinnoh. The city itself is beautiful, a massive port town split down the center by a large canal system filled with boats and clear water leading out to sea; however, the recent changes to the world have affected this place as well, perhaps making it a bit difficult to enjoy the city in its entirety. However, the library is here, as are several other points of interest; as difficult though it may be to see the world like this, the trip here will hopefully be worth your while in the end... Well, even if we are their only hope...at least it means they have faith in us.

[That small smile is returned with a similar one.]

That, I think, is something to be proud of.

[ the hotel? the abandoned hotel--at least it looked that way when he'd passed by it. ]

Can you tell me what it did to you? Anything you can remember.

Oh... yeah, that's a good idea. There's gotta be something that can be found to help reverse what happened to them.

[With little grunting noises, Rubin waves the comb around. Maybe Zelda should be awake? She's a princess, right. He points to the tangles in her hair, then gives her a sniff for good measure, then pantomimes choking on air.

Rin makes a tisking sound, reaching over to take the comb out of his hands.]

She smells fine, Rubin.

[Clearly his trainer is not getting his meaning here. One hand on his neck, Rubin lets the other fly to his forehead like a dainty maiden having a fainting spell and twirls around. So... So dizzy! Everything's spinning!]

[ Zelda is, mercifully, unaware of this because she's still snoozing, perhaps even squirming a little against her arm-pillow. But Miphanus, who does witness this, raises a hand to beep in that. He's... pretty sure... Zelda doesn't smell? They don't have a great sense of smell, but... ]

[heritrix]

[Still spinning, Rubin sacrifices the act somewhat by arguing back that no! She really does! Trust him, he can tell.

And shhhhh. If Zelda doesn't smell at all, that's besides the point because Rubin just thinks she should take a shower. Zelda's hair is usually much prettier than this, all smooth and shiny. If he says she smells, than they'll wake her up so she can take one, right? And then after she's all nice and clean they'll get it brushed and—

Oops. Not minding his spinning, Rubin accidentally steps on the empty plate that was left out on the desk, catching the edge. It rattles hard at the sudden weight that shakes it, and the little Sableye loses his balance. Rin hisses his name as he takes a tumble.]

Rubin!

[hyruglyphics]

[ Well that's more than enough sound to wake Zelda up finally, especially because that means the Sableye is falling on her or fairly near her and for being ghosts those things are pretty solid? Either way, she blinks away blearily and she mutters, ]

What in the world...

[ As she starts to sit up... ]

[heritrix]

I'm sorry, Zelda.

[Lightly, Rin rests a hand on her shoulder for a moment to make the princess aware of her presence, so she isn't further startled.]

Rubin made a mess of things, playing around. I should have shooed him away from you sooner.

[And ooh, is that little gremlin going to get a talking to.

Having fallen onto Zelda (and then into her lap when she sat up, making a bigger gap between her body and the edge of the desk), Rubin looks more or less fine, though he's gone strangely still.

There are crumbs... everywhere. All over him! The Sableye whines, trying to swipe them from his body, then tracing over a scuff on the jewel in his chest.

It's really just a few crumbs, and a mark or two, but to him its a big deal. His hands come up to pat his face with little cries of distress (in a pose strongly reminiscent of the bottom right in this picture). Riiiiiin. His jewel is dirty. ;~;]

[ Once Zelda gets a sense for herself, looking around with bleary green eyes she swallows as she sees Miphanus. She did sleep didn't she? A hand comes up to wipe off some errant saliva on her lips and ugh and her cheeks color and- ]

Oh no, it's alright I didn't mean to doze--

[ She's only barely recognized the ghost on her lap up until he makes a cry of distress, at which she jumps a bit and Zelda reaches out to try to pat his h...ead? Did he hurt it? ]

-Oh! ... Oh, are you alright?

[heritrix]

[Rubin sniffles some more, trying to sit up in Zelda's lap as he reaches out for his trainer. Zelda's headpats aren't making the situation worse, but they don't seem to be a comfort either.

Knowing the reason for it, Rin herself doesn't look too worried. She just sighs, and holds her hands out to take him off of Zelda's hands for her.]

He's okay, just a little traumatized. He's so fussy about appearances...

[hyruglyphics]

Oh...? I suppose Urbin has a similar fixation -

[ Err.

Okay she sort of scoots the chair back and spreads her arms for Rin to pick up the ghost if she wants? She's just --

... Belatedly realizing she looks like a mess in front of Rin. Her cheeks color more and she just pointlessly dusts herself off a bit. ]

Maybe even whatever happened to Cyrus. I mean, he made his bed and he's rolling around in it, but Cynthia said he usually didn't try to kill his enemies. Something's up.

Maybe... but we won't really know for sure until we see him again.

[And it's not really something he's looking forward to, but... it'll happen eventually.]

Sure hope that's when we're prepared for it, if it has to be at all.

Nothing in the library. I could see if the fiction section points to any cultural ideas about it...or we might ask the locals.

I'd really appreciate that, Zelda-chan. I think I'll be using Natto since she needs a bit more training than Chazuke does, if that's alright.

[She's the smelly skunk.]

[Oh god those eyes...they're cute, but also a little...scary, somehow? Like it can see right through him...

He shakes his head and stands up straight again.]

Well, I look forward to seeing how they battle, either way. Are you ready?

[gekkaju]

[Take care of that soggy otter, Latona, for it lacks the care to take care of itself...despite still clearly being completely okay.]

Mm, they are. I would like to get him looked at too, yeah.

[Emmeryn what was that about you NOT being team mom again...]

I'm getting your cardigan all wet though...you sure this is okay?

Ah. Yeah, they all start like that. He'll...probably get better.

[But all Michael's Pokemon were captured pre-apocalypse, so he's not sure about the timeline on that.]

But they're still capable of following instructions in battle.

Guess that means we have a lot of people and Pokemon counting on us, now.

[It's a huge burden to bear, but at this point he's willing to shoulder it. That's basically what he's dedicated his whole being to at this point, anyway.]

By the way, Rey...Cynthia-san was the one who told us to come to this town, right? Since this huge library is here...do you think maybe there still is something here she might have wanted us to find?

[It'd be easier if she just SHOWED them in that case, or told them herself, but Atsushi doesn't have the energy to be frustrated about her being cagey.]

So it isn't a Holy Grail thing?

[He'd been about to go off about why all the various multiverses were so Arthurian]

I only barely saw it. I think I may have passed out. Kinda a new experience...

[He works at his tie with one hand, loosening it. It was already off-center, like he's been sleeping in it or something.]

And then it initiated some kind of simulation?

[listen she never DENIED being team mom but she's got no fuckin right to be confused about it]

Hm? Oh, don't be silly. The purpose of a sweater is to keep warm with. [She waves her hand lightly, a dismissive gesture, before offering her arm to help Atsushi over to the Center. Yes she knows he's basically fine but look—] It will dry. Let's get you both inside.
