Week 16.

WEEK 16 The world continues to stagnate. It's an undeniable truth, one that's more or less a constant in your lives; you can see it in the people and the Pokémon both, even after you arrive in Oreburgh City. The same blank stares and behind-the-eyes deadness that Cyrus' new world brought with it are everywhere, difficult to ignore and impossible to escape. However little the people are interested in you, however, they are still present, and with Darkrai and Cresselia having agreed to help you, that has to count for something; with both dream deities and the Lake Guardians, perhaps hope hasn't faded - perhaps spirit can still be restored to the world, as long as there's a world left to restore it to. That isn't to say, however, that the city itself holds nothing for you; there's a fair amount to see here, and a few things to explore if you're so inclined to do so; the mines in particular are open to the south, and extends far beneath the region. Take care not get lost, should you venture in. I think we might have to go hunting for them if we want to try out this resurrection thing.

Where do you even find fossils? Just - dig around in the dirt somewhere?

I think you're more likely to find them in solid rock than the dirt.

...so we'd probably have to go poking around in the mines instead.

They've got exactly one library here. Are you really thinking that they'd have multiple museums?

Where do they put all their fossils, then? Do they revive them all? Things go extinct for reasons, you know.

I'd imagine that pretty much all of the revived ones are in captivity, so it's probably a situation where if you're a competent trainer and you bring one in, you've got a prehistoric creature. Or if you want them for research purposes, of course.

I guess as long as they're all in captivity, it would be alright. Although I'm curious to see if it works on more recently-deceased bones.

You know... I'm a bit curious about that, as well. Then again, I haven't seen any remains lying around like you might expect, so...

Oh - I didn't think about that.

You're right, though, that's strange. Doesn't seem like any scavengers have the drive to keep it so clean.

You wouldn't think they would, but perhaps they just gnaw incessantly on the bones until there's nothing left.

You'd think we'd have heard the grinding...

Well, maybe a little. But I haven't actually done anything.

Well, yes, but you haven't had the ability to. I know I would have probably killed several people by now if I had access to every ability I have back home, but... well, you know.

Come on now, Kayneth! Don't you know that murder is wrong?

[Look at that smile, he would've done the same fucking thing even now. His moral argument for Cyrus, at least, is pretty solid.]

I'm sure I could still kill somebody. Just not the people who actually need killing.

Oh, murder is wrong, but executions? Well, that's still up for debate, even if people generally frown upon the extrajudicial sort.

...and I agree. It's a good thing we don't have any serial killers among us from what I can see, given how easy it would be to go for basically any of the natives at this point.

Be pretty easy to kill each other, too. Lotta sleeping in groups around here.

Well, I usually sleep with my Pokemon in my tent. They're more of a factor than even a guard dog would be, I think.

You've eaten food I've made. But really, the time to do it would have been early on, when nobody really knew each other and none of the Pokemon were useful.

...true, I suppose. We should be glad none of us actually turned out to be serial killers in this version of things, then.
