Week 3.

WEEK 3

The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about.

You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day...

Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days.

Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business.

Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end.

CURRENT LOCATION: PASTORIA CITY
POKEMON AVAILABLE: IN CITIES / NEAR WATER

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week three of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

Honestly, that provides me with a good insight. I've yet to see this in action other than that Miphanus is able to shrug off much damage from tackles or other more basic physical attacks. [ So she's yet to see what Advantage really looks like basically because it's just been dueling normal attacks and it's... steel.... ] It the advantage is truly so potent... then it would be best to consider for type in every fight.

[ She hums, looking at Miphanus for a moment... ] Though I also believe that not all of their attacks must be a part of their own type. Because some of the Pokemon on the coasts, water types, do not seem to resist the tackle of Miphanus... so perhaps the attack isn't steel orientated?

[ Or like. it isn't but like how wouldn't it be steel? ]

I definitely think type is worth keeping in mind. I've already decided that I need to catch something that can take down a Toxicroak - a Poison and Ground type.

[Saturn did ask her to make sure she defeated him, and she intends to follow through. Although, that brings up an interesting point...]

Maybe whether or not a Pokemon has one or two types affects what kind of techniques it has. You never know; Miphanus could be more than just a Steel-type.

[Or, like in the case of Golett, not a Steel-type at all, and something completely random. Like...Flying, maybe. Hey, it is hovering off the ground...]

That, or perhaps how Pokemon attack isn't completely linked with what type they are.

[....

....there is. a lot to try and puzzle out, here]

I had considered if it was steel and flying, perhaps... [ So they were thinking the same thing here. Mmmm! She nods and glances back at Golett. So Psychic or Ghost... but yeah, it does look a lot more like a rock. Maybe a psychic rock? Ah well, no need to focus on it. ]

[ Hmmmmmm.... ] Psychic would be most effective against Toxicroak, right?

[Rey nods, eyes serious.]

That's what I was thinking - according to my book, there are quite a few Psychic-type Pokemon available in this region, so I'm rather spoiled for choice. I suppose it will just depend on what I can find as we travel.

[At least it won't be much of a struggle to capture the Pokemon in question....]

Do you have an idea of what you'd like? Type or species.
hyruglyphics: (but will I fix all the)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-20 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
To be honest, it wasn't until we encountered Saturn that I took into consideration I ought to have more beside me than Miphanus. ... I captured my Lickitung because they seemed to be very sturdy, able to stand even after several hits. But beyond that...?

[ She hums, ]

... Assuming Miphanus is a steel type, I suppose a water type wound account for most of steel's weaknesses.

...that makes sense. At least you've picked a type that's probably going to be easy to find.

[What with all the lakes and oceans around the place. Maybe she should look into getting a Water Pokemon....]

You're free to borrow my book whenever you want, you know. If you want to try and narrow it down.

[...this....is what friends do, right?? They lend each other things. Yes.]

Oh, thank you! Likewise, with the books I chose. [ She has two, a tour guide book type thing and one on basic battling. She looks surprised but grateful! ]

Yes, there do seem to be much more abundant water types than some others... such as fire?

[That makes Rey laugh softly.]

I may need to take you up on that. I could use a few rereads of that battling book you've got.

[Honestly, the basics seem complicated enough - let's just hope that they won't need to study Advanced Battling to have a chance against Team Galactic....]

And it's funny you say that. About the fire Pokemon, I mean; there aren't actually all that many in my book.

[...like. it's kind of weird tbh]
hyruglyphics: (to be using them)

About the only one I can recall are the Ponyta I encountered with Johan a while back... [ . . . There had to be others Right? Maybe? ]
