Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. Somewhere between. A certain level of monsters - smaller chuchus, bokoblins, lynels... some others - those are natural, or at least ancient enough to Hyrule that they may be thought of as natural. But some others are borne of Calamity Ganon's Malice, or influenced to greater savagery or have their ranks bolstered with superior forms because of it.

I can't say those names are familiar to me, though it might not surprise me to hear they had similarities to the wildlife I know. But...

It is as it sounds - the Malice of the Calamity. But ... it also takes physical form, leaks out from the body and pulsing heart of it, forming a burning mud like ooze.

[The fact that Ignis said absolutely nothing was a very, very damning statement in itself.]

Um?

That said, she reaches out and brushes a hand on his sleeve there. You okay, man? ]

O-oh. Forgive me, I...

[He shook his head, Hemera looking up from the Shellos in what almost appeared to be concern. Ignis paused, but...no, he'd already told Zelda enough that he was fairly sure he could trust her.]

That's...what Starscourge is. Decay and deterioration in the form of a black infectious miasma.

[ Malice is closer to liquid than gas, but it can pretty much be anywhere at once, and any thing It does make the air thick as well. It empowers on the Blood Moon... But that Starscourge filled the sky, didn't it? She...

She frowns, and tugs gently on the sleeve ]

I... see.

...I've troubled you unnecessarily, haven't I? Please, accept my apology. It wasn't my intention.

No, think nothing of it. [ She says just as quickly, ] ... These terrible memories are things we must bare, now that victory has been achieved. There is no shame in sharing those terrors.
