Week 3.

WEEK 3 The past weekend has given people a lot to take in, and a lot to think about. You're permitted to stay at the resort all day on Sunday, should you so choose; relax and replenish yourselves with regards to sleep at least, seeing as it's much more comfortable than the routes or sleeping on the floor of the Pokémon Center. Commander Saturn is gone as of last night, and no one seems to be coming after you - though there is likely something you'll be aware of by the end of the day... Whatever happens, it's evident that you'll have to leave this place eventually, and Monday should find everyone back on Route 213. It's been repeatedly recommended to move toward Pastoria City; whether you believe the source of said urging to be trustworthy or not, it's still a good idea to move in that direction - a city means supplies, after all, a place to restock and spend a few days. Everyone should be able to find Pastoria City by Tuesday afternoon; it's another unfamiliar place, with various things to see and look at over the course of the next few days. It's far smaller than Veilstone, but it borders up to the ocean by way of a small jetty on the southeastern side of town with a few boats moored to it. Otherwise, it's surrounded by forest, and the main path winds its way lazily through town, weaving between personal residences and a few places of business. Of course, it's still not nearly as lively as it should be; the inhabitants here all seem as devoid of spirit as everywhere else; fortunately, a select few of your companions do seem to be perking up a bit - perhaps that's a good sign, in the end. No matter how you look at it, you've had your hands full.

And then you got dropped into another conflict.

That's true. [ She ... smiles a little sadly. ] There was - is - still so much more to do. I know Hyrule and rebuild without me, but I do still fret about it.

With any luck, we'll get done with this sooner rather than later, and we won't have to worry too much about it.

Honestly... I do not think it will be so quick. Not if we intend to actually see this journey through the whole way.

Maybe not.

[His face falls.]

I worry about what's going to happen without me there.

[ Mmm. ]

I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps we shall find some means for you and the others to return.

There's at least one person in the world completely devastated about my absence.

[ . . . Ah that's- she frowns deeper at that. It's... honestly, it's an angle she should have considered, because it's true that's got to be scary bordering on terrible for Purah, Robbie, Impa.... Link... She lowers her gaze, a look of belated recognition coming to her. As if she had - somehow - not considered that this whole time. ]

[He nods at her, because he knows what that look means.]

...Yeah.

[ Inale. Exhale.

... She has to. ...

Of course he has to return, but she had taken her role in things for granted in a sense, hasn't she? ]

... Even so.

...You're a good person, Zelda.

[He clenches and unclenches his fist, staring at it.]

Me? I'd leave in a heartbeat, if I could.

Nothing that you could be blamed for, I assure you.

[ Mmm. ]

... I find it hard to overlook their suffering.

[semistableman]

It’s a lot to put on somebody’s shoulders.

[He admitted he was mentally a shitshow to Cynthia, after all.]

I’m not really cut out for it.

[ She wants to assure him - she does - but ... honestly, with how his reaction to Saturn went from murderous to sympathetic and was all over the place last week, perhaps he has a point. But it's presumptuous to assume she is any better? She bites her lip, and she shakes her head. ]

I do not think you are incapable, Bucky. But if you do not feel you are able, then there is no shame in... not. This was not something which was demanded of us.

I at least want to stick around for Flora. If she's really been my partner this whole time, I'm going to help her.

[hyruglyphics]

[ What a reason... She laughs softly, looking at the pool. ]

Good... that sounds like a strong reason to me.

[semistableman]

[What can he say? He feels more driven looking at the concrete, the small. It's selfish, he knows that.]

Yeah. I think so.

[hyruglyphics]

[ Well, then she'll nod again and fall into a more comfortable silence, actually making to brush her hand in the pool's water. She still has yet to go in it but it's...

Well, it's a nicer moment, after that agreement. It's still not great, but it's fine. ]
