WEEK 4 Backtracking may not seem like an ideal situation, especially not given the situation on Sunday morning, but it isn't without reason or merit; after all, Lake Valor is within a reasonable distance, and perhaps more importantly, there's reason to believe that something may be there. Whether it's one of the Guardians you seek or something else entirely has yet to be seen; there's only one way to know for sure, however. So back onto Route 213 it is; you should reach Route 214 by Tuesday afternoon, and the entrance to Lake Valor by Thursday night; you may want to wait to explore the lakefront proper during the morning, however. Who knows what you may run into... You've seen at least some reasons to not give up hope as you left Pastoria; for the time being, let that hope give you strength. ["Lost" is quite a difference from "fall behind". Rin immediately feels her hackles raise, trying to make out just which ones are missing.]

There's no way those guys could be so subtle; every time they show up, it looks like they're about to march in a dull parade.

[With two people missing, she doesn't place Johan's absence right away. Like Alice and Chitanda, she just didn't know him that well. But while she can't say the same for the second missing person to join them, he's someone who was always on the edge of her awareness, so when she concentrates on that...]

...did they just leave? [Looking around, she's certain of it now. She doesn't see Shirou's weirdly shaped head anywhere.] Now that I think about it, Kotomine was acting strange this morning.

Yeah, all mopey and... well, quiet. D'you think that's what happened to all of them?

[Rin shakes her head, but it's not a "no". She just looks unsure.]

I don't know what to make of it. You'd think they'd at least say something.

Turning on her foot, it seems Rin intends to look for them.]

Hey, wait!

[She follows after without a thought.]

You don't think they just got lost, do you? There's no evidence of anything they would've left if it were just normal.

[Rin doesn't slow down.]

That just makes it stranger! This has happened four times now. It was one thing when we were at the resort, but out here there should at least be footprints!

You're right, and their stuff's gone, too! So they can't just have wandered off...

They could've carried it, but you'd think it would slow them down. We should have noticed something.

Aww... I don't get it. How is there nothing? No evidence they were even around?

[Rin is just kind of standing in place now, looking about.]

It's like they were just ghosted away. Could it have been Cyrus...?

Could be. Maybe he couldn't get all of us.

[heritrix]

I feel like if he knew about all of us, he'd be trying harder. At a minimum, we'd be in more trouble.

[niceoppai]

That's the thing, isn't it. But we've all been in a group and we're not hard to spot.

[heritrix]

So then it has to be something else... [But that makes even less sense.] This is too creepy.

[niceoppai]

No kidding. All we can do is watch for the signs for anyone else now, and that's not really doing a lot.

[heritrix]

...There has to be something more we can do than just wait for it to happen again. I can't accept an option that boils down to just waiting for another two people to disappear.

[Especially when it could be anyone at random. Zelda. Sena. Selfishly, her first thought after those two is to worry for herself, but given the situation, that seems fair.]

[niceoppai]

I know! But... ughh, this is terrible! It started after our meeting with Saturn, so Galactic being involved makes the most sense, but we know basically nothing.

[heritrix]

[Hmm...]

Did you see Alice or Chitanda at all, before they disappeared? I was in the kitchen for all of that morning, so by the time I realized anything was amiss, they were already gone.

[niceoppai]

They seemed tired after the supper, but I just figured that was normal at the time. It was kinda emotionally taxing all around.

...Yeah. I was too, I'll admit. That might not be anything definitive, then.
