WEEK 4 Backtracking may not seem like an ideal situation, especially not given the situation on Sunday morning, but it isn't without reason or merit; after all, Lake Valor is within a reasonable distance, and perhaps more importantly, there's reason to believe that something may be there. Whether it's one of the Guardians you seek or something else entirely has yet to be seen; there's only one way to know for sure, however. So back onto Route 213 it is; you should reach Route 214 by Tuesday afternoon, and the entrance to Lake Valor by Thursday night; you may want to wait to explore the lakefront proper during the morning, however. Who knows what you may run into... You've seen at least some reasons to not give up hope as you left Pastoria; for the time being, let that hope give you strength. Same here. We've got a pretty good group here; it's nice to have people you can rely on.

That's the spirit. I think we've got a pretty good shot at both of 'em. We're a pretty unpredictable and crazy group of people, but from the looks of things we all really do want to do what we can to help the people and Pokémon here.

[Not to mention getting home, he's pretty sure everyone wants that.]

Yeah...I mean, now that I'm starting to see what Monta is like...I want to know more, you know? And Vee, too...

[Speak of the devil, here they come now. Looks like Monta won this time, since he's the one holding the stick. Sena takes it.]

Nice job, you guys! Okay, uh...slant! [He makes a quick diagonal motion with the stick, then tosses it in that same direction, harder this time. As both Pokemon go after it, he blinks bemusedly.]

I think I get what you're saying. They've got personalities too, it's just taking awhile for them to shine through. I'm curious to see what Scyther will be like, and Roc's already forming her own personality.

...Well, I guess it's more accurate to say she's coming back into her personality.

What's she like?

She really likes to fight! If I leave her alone she'll end up wandering off to find wild Pokémon to battle, and she tends to like going up against Pokémon that can beat her. The stronger the opponent, the better.

[...He sounds kind of proud...??]

Oh! So she's really competitive!

[He actually grins a little at that.]

That's nice...it means she's got a lot of drive. Maybe she wants to be the best?

[It's no fun playing if you're not going up against someone strong, right?]
