WEEK 4 Backtracking may not seem like an ideal situation, especially not given the situation on Sunday morning, but it isn't without reason or merit; after all, Lake Valor is within a reasonable distance, and perhaps more importantly, there's reason to believe that something may be there. Whether it's one of the Guardians you seek or something else entirely has yet to be seen; there's only one way to know for sure, however. So back onto Route 213 it is; you should reach Route 214 by Tuesday afternoon, and the entrance to Lake Valor by Thursday night; you may want to wait to explore the lakefront proper during the morning, however. Who knows what you may run into... You've seen at least some reasons to not give up hope as you left Pastoria; for the time being, let that hope give you strength. [Nodding, Rey seats herself beside her bag, beckoning Riolu over. Golett sits down of its own accord, which doesn't go unnoticed by its trainer.]

They did. I think it bodes quite well for whichever city we end up in next. Maybe it's like....hm.

[Let her pause and think for a moment.]

Maybe it's like...the longer we're here, the stronger we become. Our ability to affect people, that is. Maybe our emotions are reawakening those of the population.

Maybe. I'm not gonna get my hopes up until I see it, though.

[It doesn't sound like a "no", though; just kind of how he is in general.

He'll come a bit closer at that, though he doesn't sit down; he'll remain standing for now, just...holding his Pokémon and staring out at the water again.]

I never really used to have an opinion on it. But at this point I don't really like it. Bad experiences.

[It's more straightforward than he's been with most people about it.]

There's a big facility where I'm from, all of it under the ocean. They were creating a massive monster down there, bigger than the buildings here that we've seen, even the department store in Veilstone. Part of the latest plan to fuck up the planet. I ended up locked in a chamber with it for a while.

Nothing against the ocean itself, I guess. Just the shit that comes out of it.
