Week 4.

WEEK 4

Backtracking may not seem like an ideal situation, especially not given the situation on Sunday morning, but it isn't without reason or merit; after all, Lake Valor is within a reasonable distance, and perhaps more importantly, there's reason to believe that something may be there. Whether it's one of the Guardians you seek or something else entirely has yet to be seen; there's only one way to know for sure, however.

So back onto Route 213 it is; you should reach Route 214 by Tuesday afternoon, and the entrance to Lake Valor by Thursday night; you may want to wait to explore the lakefront proper during the morning, however. Who knows what you may run into...

You've seen at least some reasons to not give up hope as you left Pastoria; for the time being, let that hope give you strength.

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 214
POKEMON AVAILABLE: PLAINS/FOREST / MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week four of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due next weekend!]

enjoymyatelier: king arthur with insubstantial tits was right theeeeere (but sooooolaaaaaaa)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-29 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Girafarig fits symbolically, if nothing else. It's the one that has a head on its tail, right? So it can see things before it and behind it.

...

It's a philosophical stretch, but you know how it is.
hyruglyphics: (to be using them)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-06-29 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
That's right - they're a normal and psychic type - I saw one in action on our way to Pastoria.

[ Well, Valor, technically, but. ]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-06-30 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. I wonder which half is which?

[it's kind of a joke, but you kind of have to wonder....]
hyruglyphics: (for me!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-01 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ . . . ?

Oh that's a question. She takes a picture of the Psyduck again, but. ]

Oh, that is a good question. I would think the back is psychic, perhaps? It seemed more aware...
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-01 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, that makes sense. And the front is just a giraffe, but... well, it's not as though you can always predict a Pokemon's type based on what kind of animal they seem to be. It's usually more about coloring.
hyruglyphics: (so like I'll get some better)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-02 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Coloring... how so, I am not sure I have noticed that.
enjoymyatelier: have fun storming the castle, kayneth (a totally honorable mage duel)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-02 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, there are usually more obvious cues accompanying them, and there are always exceptions, but as I've been observing Pokemon I've been noticing that, say, Water type Pokemon have a tendency to be various shades of blue, while Fire types tend to be reds, oranges, and yellows.
hyruglyphics: (to be using them)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-02 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[ . . . Glances at the Psyducks blocking their way. And their yellow. ]

... I've not seen too many fire types other than Ponyta...? Oh, and the one with Sena.
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-03 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I think there's Pokemon called Magmar somewhere in Sinnoh that's like that, too.

...

But like I said, it's not a hard and fast rule. Psyduck isn't blue at all...
hyruglyphics: (weeee)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-03 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
... The trend is true of other water types, though. Most of the fish and the like...?

[ Finneon, Velasquez himself, Remoraid...

Oh wait, not Goldeen. ]
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-04 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I've heard there's also a line of penguins like that. Admittedly, I don't know if there's an actual way to catch it, but there's ostensibly a Water-type penguin that's blue.
hyruglyphics: (Oh wow these aren't bad!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-04 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
- What is a penguin?

[ CURIOUSER... ]
enjoymyatelier: gosh I am going to enjoy torturing you to death. (that is totally adorable!)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-05 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I shouldn't have assumed they'd be general knowledge.

[He flips to a blank page in his notebook and does a very quick (but accurate) sketch of an Emperor Penguin.]

They're flightless birds that... hm. I'd say they're basically in a similar ecological niche as seals in that they're kind of awkward on land, but they're very good swimmers. They tend to live in Antarctic regions, so if you've never been somewhere similar to the far southern coasts of my world, you probably wouldn't have seen them.
hyruglyphics: (nearly at 50!!)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-07 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
[ . . . Oh!! She's excited actually to see Kayneth's art talent like that? Her eyes light up a little bit as she does. But... well. The bird is actually super cool in the first place? ]

Oh, how fascinating! Hyrule's frigid regions tend to have a lot of larger mammal creatures more than birds, but I suppose none of them are near the ocean...
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-08 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, that makes sense. So they might exist in your world, but just not in your homeland? How advanced is travel where you're from?
hyruglyphics: (temp icons)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-08 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Uuuuh.... ]

... I do not know how to answer the question, to be honest. The ancient Sheikah devised the ability for instant transportation [ teleporting ] but for a narrowly specific purpose. To travel through the lands themselves, most would use horses.

[ Well, not gorons or rito, but. ]
enjoymyatelier: no seriously what are you doing (uhhhhhhhh....)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-09 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Instant transportation? That's... honestly pretty astounding. It's probably a bit unfortunate that it's not more widely available, though I suppose that would be extremely resource-intensive.
hyruglyphics: (temp icons)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-09 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
Truthfully, we've yet to even completely isolate the power source. The Ancient Sheikah created the technology, and most of it was put in place for use by the chosen hero.

[ That said, she looks intently as if to ask why he had asked about transportation in the first place. ]
enjoymyatelier: no seriously what are you doing (uhhhhhhhh....)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-10 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm... well, that's interesting. I'd imagine it's probably some sort of marriage of extremely powerful magic and technology, because teleportation is extremely difficult to achieve, but... well, how old is it, actually?
hyruglyphics: (but will I fix all the)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-10 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Over ten thousand years old.

[ . . . You know this might be the only time she's specified here. ]
enjoymyatelier: what is that thing doing here... (>warily regard bullet)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-12 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
...

That's older than most of recorded human civilization in my world... well, no wonder you don't know much about it.
hyruglyphics: (idk man)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-12 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
The times before then are even more a mystery, lost into legends.
enjoymyatelier: no seriously what are you doing (uhhhhhhhh....)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-15 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I can imagine. That's... quite the stretch of time. For us, before a certain point, we're not even really human.
hyruglyphics: (weeee)

[personal profile] hyruglyphics 2018-07-16 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ huh! ]

A time before you were human...? [ She tilts her head ] What an idea...
enjoymyatelier: dude i am running out of variations on smug (all smug all the time)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2018-07-17 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, actually. Humans used to be more like apes, actually, but over eons they became... what we are today, basically.
