WEEK 4 Backtracking may not seem like an ideal situation, especially not given the situation on Sunday morning, but it isn't without reason or merit; after all, Lake Valor is within a reasonable distance, and perhaps more importantly, there's reason to believe that something may be there. Whether it's one of the Guardians you seek or something else entirely has yet to be seen; there's only one way to know for sure, however. So back onto Route 213 it is; you should reach Route 214 by Tuesday afternoon, and the entrance to Lake Valor by Thursday night; you may want to wait to explore the lakefront proper during the morning, however. Who knows what you may run into... You've seen at least some reasons to not give up hope as you left Pastoria; for the time being, let that hope give you strength. Honestly, I think there might be more than one deity. Saturn and Cynthia made it sound like Cyrus still has the ability to cross dimensions, with or without the Lake Guardians. It could be there's a fourth god we're unaware of who has that kind of power.

Or more, for all we know. This doesn't exactly seem like the sort of place that only has a trinity or something along those lines. I'm getting more of an animistic feel from the little I've heard of the local religion before a local man declared himself God.

[She can't really disagree with that. Plus, just look at the world they come from. There's a wide range of gods and demigods, some revered to this day around the world, and others forgotten.]

You've heard stories?

Well, Michael said there were traditions around eating Pokemon which sound like they fit in that vein. I think I'd have to look more deeply into books on myths if I can find them to really be sure, though.

[heritrix]

[Rin sighs, digging her toes deep into the sand with every step.]

I wish we'd run into a library. If i had facts and stories at my fingertips, I'd have a better idea of the culture that shapes this world.

I think there might be one further to the east? Michael and I discussed that a bit, but... that's literally the only one. Maybe our journey will take us there someday, but...

[heritrix]

[She counts off her fingers.]

There are two more Guardians we have to search for. At this rate, we could very well travel to every major city of this region in our efforts to find them. I think it's likely.

[Though if it could be sooner rather than later, she wouldn't complain.] Do you remember what city the library is supposed to be in?

[enjoymyatelier]

I think it's Dew... something. Dewfjord? Dewford? That sort of thing.

But yes, I don't think that's impossible.

[Dewford...? Her brow wrinkles.]

I don't remember that one from the map. [Probably because she wasn't looking at a map of Hoenn.] Then again, I didn't memorize every inch of it like Michael, so there's probably some things I forgot. I'll have to ask him some time how far off that is.

[well, that was a hell of a mixup, but he remembered it wrong because his player's been redoing ORAS.......]

You'd think there would be more paper maps of the region around. Maybe I should copy one down into my notebook the next time we see one.

[heritrix]

[We all do it, hahaha. I wondered but then I was like, this could make for some great joke setup later on.]

Or buy one. I didn't at the department store because every copy was sold out by the time I looked for it, so I had to rely off one hanging on the wall. But surely that's not a thing the people of this world can skimp on; there has to be maps in other towns.

I suppose no one travels enough these days to bother restocking the maps.
