WEEK 5 As of morning the next day, it seems the rain has stopped; with Azelf awakened and your newly-hatched companions by your side, it's possible that you're feeling a new sense of resolve regarding what needs to be done - and, perhaps more importantly, your ability to accomplish it. The device Maylene gave you certainly does seem to work; activating it will reveal a dark portal crackling with energy, shades of pink and purple swirling brightly around the outer edges, and those of you that walk through it will find yourselves quite suddenly standing somewhere else - there's grass beneath your feet and an unfamiliar city to the west, and the place you're standing seems raised up in some way; turning around once the portal has closed behind the last of you will reveal a massive bronze statue depicting a Pokémon of some sort, though what it is seems to be a little difficult to tell... The trip to Eterna City may leave you feeling a little dizzy and disoriented, and for a few uncomfortable moments you're likely very, very aware of your organs, but the effects will pass after a few moments and you'll soon feel right as rain. Of course, it'll likely become obvious very quickly that you aren't alone near that statue... Either way, it's a long journey up to Snowpoint City; you might want to take some time to make sure that you're prepared before you set off. It really does seem as though finding Azelf at Lake Valor has done the world some good, though, along with your combined effects on the world already; hopefully the Guardian at Lake Acuity in the north will be just as helpful... What trip would ever be complete without standing at the side of a lake in pouring rain waiting for you to catch a fish?

[...That probably didn't sound as exasperated as Ignis had tried for.]

I can absolutely complain for how long it took in the middle of a torrential rainstorm.

We're lucky we didn't all catch cold.

But we didn't, so I count that a victory.

[ He nudges Ignis. ]

Torrential rainstorms or not, it was a good time, right? You've got to admit, I landed some pretty awesome catches.

...Wouldn't have traded it for anything.

[ He softens, both in the way he smiles, and his tone of voice. ]

Neither would I. Even if bad things happened... I was always glad you guys were with me.

So was I, Noct.

[Could he say there was nothing he regretted? Ignis wasn't really sure anymore. Nothing he'd admit to regretting, certainly. And what little he doubted probably wasn't what one might assume.]

...Even though we're likely to catch even shades of hell from Prompto and Gladio once we get back. I don't know if you were brought here the same time as us or afterward, but when we awoke we'd apparently been here for a few weeks already. And that was...something like a month ago, I think.

Honestly, I'm not sure when Keith and I were brought here. I'm just wondering why we woke up here, and not wherever or whenever you guys did.

[Even without seeing him and even behind his glasses, Ignis gave him a Look of 'the gods can fucking fight me, you're coming back and that's final']

...I'm afraid I don't have the answer to that.

[ He doesn't wanna ruin this Ignis!! ]

Hopefully we'll find out why. 'Til then... I'm just glad to get out of this uniform.

[young man you know better than to assume ignis isn't gonna move hell, heaven, and every planet in between when he needs to do something]

Right.

[ He finds himself a much better outfit, then lightly taps his knuckles on Ignis's shoulder when he's done. ]

It's nothing. We were already going to take a bit of time to prepare and restock anyway, so there's no reason to thank me.

[fortunately he has a highly marketable and delicious skill]

You sure? I'll have to make it up to you somehow, anyway.

[Ignis brushed the idea off, waving a hand dismissively. This was basically his job, after all.]

It's not ridiculous if it's something I'd want to do, anyway.

But it's hardly something you need to do. You're worrying too much.

Can't I do something nice for my oldest friend? Seriously, Ignis, I want to.

Fine, alright. I've hardly any ability to stop you.

You sure can't. I'm going to get you a nice gift, and you'll have to accept it.

You're simply insufferable sometimes, I hope you realize that.

[nightcure]

[ He laughs, bright and light and happy. ]

Would you have me any other way, Iggy?

[discutio]

Not a chance.

[No hesitation. As much as recent events had completely thrown him off and left him shaken...this was right. This was as 'right' as things could get, at the most fundamental of the very basic foundations of the world Ignis Scientia lived in.]

[He was with Noctis, and Noctis was happy. That was all he needed.]
