Week 6.

WEEK 6 One thing is going to be made abundantly clear this week: the routes you're traveling are cold. Through Monday night, you'll likely find it best to skirt around the foot of that massive mountain that lies immediately to the east of Eterna City; it looks treacherous, and while some of you may be up to the trip, it's probably best to not waste your energy before you get anywhere near Lake Acuity. The journey is going to be a long one before you get there, but the first few days will see you making good time, actually. Between that and the noticeable changes to the world, maybe it won't be so bad...? ...Or not. Tuesday morning and beyond is where the hell sets in for those of you that aren't used to or don't like the cold. The routes are full of perpetual snowfall; it isn't heavy, given the time of year, but the fact of the matter is that it's still coming down, and the snow is piled up directly on the route clear up to the average person's waist. It makes traveling slow going, though if you have a fire-type it might be feasible to clear a bit more of a path - be careful with that, though, because all the runoff has to go somewhere, and it's possible that you'll just make the path icy in the end. Either way, it's cold, due to the snowfall you're going to be wet, and traveling is going to be very, very slow; here's hoping whatever's at that lake is worth it, in the end. ...Wherever the lake may actually happen to lie; no matter where you look on the way to Snowpoint City, you won't find an entrance to it... [Well, it may not be the same thing, but it'd be a start! How difficult can it be?]

It's technique... well, an attack which generates leaves formed of energy which are incapable of missing! They both move quickly and are locked onto the enemy!

It's a Grass type move and is learned by many grass types, but can also be learned by other pokemon species with a mystical bent to them.

[ She confesses that immediately, stepping back from the Pokemon as she begins to thoughtfully walk through the low settled snow. Hopefully this isn't too boring for Monta to want to run ahead... ]

The question at hand is how we ended up with these Pokemon on us when we awoke... and so when and how we got them. There are a great many potent coincidences piled on top of each other in relation to them: their personalities are compatible with our own, many of them are from regions foreign to Sinnoh, and they had seemed to regain their spirit at a rate faster than anything else in the world other than ourselves. Putting these together... unless there is a greater gap period in our memories in which we befriended them before our spirit was taken, they would have to be assigned to us.

So if they were assigned, and the spirit was drained at the time.... how then do their personalities suit us so much?

This is a lot better than the last time I was up in the mountains, at least. So I guees I shouldn't complain too much.

I didn't say he laid the egg, I said he copied it. Just sort of made it out of thin air. I don't believe he can lay eggs anyway...

[Does he actually know how to determine a parrot's sex or did he just decide?

Anyway. Quaver's still not really up to that emotional level, but he seems to at least absorb that what he's doing now is a good thing. He uses Flame Wheel on a large snowbank.]

[ He doesnt have a winter coat or fire pokemon. He has a black coat...which isn't his (which he got from Cynthia) but it's better than walking around with short sleeves.

Also that scarf too (thanks Zelda) because guess who is not a fan of cold. ]

[ Ventus is surprised that anyone would be able to be so chipper during any of this. Not that he's including himself because of course he isn't.

He does notice, however, that she's lagging behind some because Ventus istrying his best to look out for people. So he comes over to her sometime in the mid day. ]

Emmeryn? Are you doing okay?

Can't you tell him to make another one?

[He doesn't see the mystery egg as all that appealing to begin with, but if you want?]

She smiles as warmly as ever despite how fucking frozen she is, but she's stammering a little between her chattering teeth...]

Thank you, but I will be fine. I am—simply not used to the cold.

[You don't just...copy eggs. Copying an egg is not a move??? What do eggs have to do with Pokemon battling, anyway?

Meanwhile, Quaver has earned Monta's respect, because wow. That sure is a hole you burned into a snowbank. Nice.]

[Well, they're moving, so Monta is satisfied. For now. He won't use Flame Wheel just yet and stick with Ember for now, but if you guys really can't keep up he's gonna use the more powerful fire type move to blast a path through.]

If it was just one or two of us, it'd be a coincidence, but...

[Everyone has a Pokemon that suits them to some degree.]

Maybe they regained their personality faster because they've been with us longer? Or because they got hit with the thing that woke us up but it didn't affect them as quickly?

[Still. That doesn't explain all of it, does it?]

Still...I can't think of anything else. [Umm...] Maybe if we knew what our designations were supposed to mean or something? [Didn't you say you had the same letter as Maylene, Zelda?]

Don't turn eggs into some kind of hobby.

[Even though it's really mesmerizing to see this happen, in some sort of bizarre, mindboggling way. As if to convince himself these are real eggs, he picks one up. Rather large, for an egg. Still fits in one hand, but it's larger than normal eggs]

...guess it wouldn't hurt to give this a bite.

[He's growing more curious by the minute, yep]

[ keith's never spoken to emmeryn, but since they're all on the same team, he figures he should check up on her. she's been quiet. probably because it's so damn cold.

she's lagging behind, and keith brings out his houndour, red. red lets out a little flame, and keith picks him up before holding him out towards emmeryn. ]

[SIGH. He hates having to explain this because he...can't.]

Well. He saw a Chansey - you know, those fat pink ones? He saw it pull an egg out of its pouch to eat. I told him to copy its attack, when it made one, but he copied the egg.

[Quaver just. Continues to make fire. This is...sort of fun...?]

Wait...Chansey make eggs...and they eat their own...eggs...?

[Michael...this is sounding really...kinda...]

[that sure is Sena's wild imagination at work. He can't help but look at Monta and Quaver making lots of Fire and envisioning the bird roasting several large eggs over a huge fire in the snow.]

...You certainly don't seem as if you are used to it.

[Camilla kind of gets it, even if she's kind of used to the idea of cold, anyway. Though it gets some curiosity out of her.]

I do hope this isn't too nasty a reminder, however...?

They weren't fertilized. Actually, they didn't have those green spots either. Maybe that's how you tell.

[They didn't look all that much like the eggs from Pastoria. But they were definitely eggs on the inside, so...why would it make more than one type of egg?]

[There's something really gross about this? Or at the very least super weird? WHY ARE YOU NOT WEIRDED OUT ABOUT THIS EVEN IF YOU ARE TECHNICALLY A DEVIL]

...I would certainly hope what's elsewhere isn't so flimsy.

If the people here take such currency, however, then you certainly lucked out. I suppose it's...simply rather interesting to see such value attributed to paper?

[He just hopes he won't regret this. With some hesitation, Kiryu cracks the egg open, stares into it, and nom.

After the first bite he stops, looks at the egg for a moment, surprised, and devours the rest. This is a good egg! So good! How can an egg taste so good? Once he's done he seems very satisfied]

That's the best egg I have had in a long time.
