Week 6.

WEEK 6 One thing is going to be made abundantly clear this week: the routes you're traveling are cold. Through Monday night, you'll likely find it best to skirt around the foot of that massive mountain that lies immediately to the east of Eterna City; it looks treacherous, and while some of you may be up to the trip, it's probably best to not waste your energy before you get anywhere near Lake Acuity. The journey is going to be a long one before you get there, but the first few days will see you making good time, actually. Between that and the noticeable changes to the world, maybe it won't be so bad...? ...Or not. Tuesday morning and beyond is where the hell sets in for those of you that aren't used to or don't like the cold. The routes are full of perpetual snowfall; it isn't heavy, given the time of year, but the fact of the matter is that it's still coming down, and the snow is piled up directly on the route clear up to the average person's waist. It makes traveling slow going, though if you have a fire-type it might be feasible to clear a bit more of a path - be careful with that, though, because all the runoff has to go somewhere, and it's possible that you'll just make the path icy in the end. Either way, it's cold, due to the snowfall you're going to be wet, and traveling is going to be very, very slow; here's hoping whatever's at that lake is worth it, in the end. ...Wherever the lake may actually happen to lie; no matter where you look on the way to Snowpoint City, you won't find an entrance to it... [ Well, when she's asked to focus on him! She does, curious about the box. That curiosity is echoed by Miphanus, who zooms in with some curiosity (zoom zoom) but... her Geodude doesn't seem to care. It's just resting there. ]

[It's not stealing! It's borrowing! Just...without her knowledge or express consent...but still!]

I suspect they were for public reading, for learning about Grass-types, so there should be no problem in learning from her research. There's also one about how to avoid Ghost-types, and several talismans I'm not sure what are for.

[He's definitely not telling these were in a secret room behind the gym leader's platform, because he already dug a hole for himself when he admitted taking these wasn't an entirely lawful thing to do.

Kiryu shows the object he was talking about. Ofuda tags for warding ghosts. He already knows it's for warding -- Japan culture! -- but he's not sure it's as simple as that]

[ Interesting. Honestly, both of these are interesting, and Zelda's going to take this moment to just sit and open up one of these books, opening to a random page and skimming it. Ah, this one is was talking about that Moss Rock and the grass-Eevee she had already discovered. It seemed it wasn't just proximity, it had to to with training in the area of it! She'd have to correct herself to Sena in future. But she smiles... ]

Gym leaders seem to be rather dedicated to the types they train. The other gyms may have similar journals in them.

Oh, all of it is! These notations about their moves and abilities are amazing. It might actually be easier if you talked about what you wanted to know... Ah! [ she taps the page excitedly! ]

Here, it says Tangela evolves by way of connecting with the ancient past! A move called Ancient Power!

A plant with psychic moves would fit my team well. [Are there psychic plants in Sinnoh? Heck if he knows]

Tangela...? [Hm. He's sure he has heard about it before, but he's not sure which one that is. Tangela...nope, not ringing bells] Which one is that?

There isn't a picture on this page, as you can see.... but it's called the Vine Pokémon and there's no known look at what it's face looks like in the mass of vines...

Psychic moves for a grass type?

[ Well, she'll keep it in mind as she keeps looking but there's a few. You know, a number of journals. ]

Why not to just look through the vines and see its face? Doesn't sound like it'd be too difficult.

[It's not like seeing its face would curse you forever, unlike other Pokemon! Right?]

Perhaps the vines are too thick? And if it's a grass type, they are its appendages.

... ! Ah, here's a grass type move which sounds like it might be Psychic-related! Magical Leaf.

Magical Leaf? [That does sound mystical to some extent] What's that?

It's technique... well, an attack which generates leaves formed of energy which are incapable of missing! They both move quickly and are locked onto the enemy!

[ Huh! ]

It's a Grass type move and is learned by many grass types, but can also be learned by other pokemon species with a mystical bent to them.
