Week 6.

WEEK 6

One thing is going to be made abundantly clear this week: the routes you're traveling are cold.

Through Monday night, you'll likely find it best to skirt around the foot of that massive mountain that lies immediately to the east of Eterna City; it looks treacherous, and while some of you may be up to the trip, it's probably best to not waste your energy before you get anywhere near Lake Acuity. The journey is going to be a long one before you get there, but the first few days will see you making good time, actually. Between that and the noticeable changes to the world, maybe it won't be so bad...?

...Or not. Tuesday morning and beyond is where the hell sets in for those of you that aren't used to or don't like the cold. The routes are full of perpetual snowfall; it isn't heavy, given the time of year, but the fact of the matter is that it's still coming down, and the snow is piled up directly on the route clear up to the average person's waist. It makes traveling slow going, though if you have a fire-type it might be feasible to clear a bit more of a path - be careful with that, though, because all the runoff has to go somewhere, and it's possible that you'll just make the path icy in the end. Either way, it's cold, due to the snowfall you're going to be wet, and traveling is going to be very, very slow; here's hoping whatever's at that lake is worth it, in the end.

...Wherever the lake may actually happen to lie; no matter where you look on the way to Snowpoint City, you won't find an entrance to it...

CURRENT LOCATION: ROUTE 216/217
POKEMON AVAILABLE: MOUNTAINS/ELEVATED AREAS / SNOWY TERRAIN

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week six of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend.]

[GESTURING...IN ITS GENERAL DIRECTION...]

Are you looking at it? The hell else would I call it?

eudaimonikos: (but I want to make yours come true)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-07-13 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Fair enough.

[He'd sort of been making fun of you, but he's a little pleased to have actually gotten it right? He smiles a little.]

I thought about Pero, but it sounded stupid. More like perro. [The Spanish one]

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-07-13 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Ehh, mas gato que perro, but either way it's kinda dumb, yeah.

[...Jake.]

I'm not great at the whole names thing, obviously, but I like 'm to sound remotely good.
eudaimonikos: (and in the end if I don't)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-07-13 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods - it's definitely not a dog. Pero was a bad name.]

I think you're doing fine. But, anything short of "Korzog the Bloody" counts as creative for a demon, so.

[He spreads his hands. His opinion is perhaps not the best.]

So, four of them now?
bloodspent: (28. when you were there first)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-07-13 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, four of 'em. They seem to be managing okay, even if the lizard from the egg doesn't give a fuck about anything and I don't expect this one will either.
eudaimonikos: (and I'll tell you that I am fine)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-07-14 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
You manage them alright. Most of you do. I get collecting more of them for the strategic factor, but I feel like perhaps I should work a little more on...caring about animals? I like them fine, they can be fun. But they're just sort of...

[Shrug. He's not sure he's really cottoning onto this whole human-y "pet owning" thing.]

...okay? I don't know if that's on me or Team Galactic. Do you care about your Pokemon a great deal?
bloodspent: (07. they're all the same)

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-07-14 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
[...You know who's going back in the ball, his Pokemon are going back in the ball - the pantslizard is going to throw a fit but fuck it, that is a problem for Future Jake.]

I mean, sort of? I think I'm more in your sort of boat where I like them just fine. I'd prefer it if they didn't die or anything? But I'm not Camilla about it.

[...]

It's probably a good thing that Camilla is the only one here that's Camilla about it.
eudaimonikos: (and I'll tell you that I am fine)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-07-14 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
[Michael's Pokemon are in their balls; he's been keeping them there until the nightly campfire, unless there's something to actually fight. No reason for them to slog through this frozen hellscape just because he has to.]

Mmm, Camilla. She reads far more into their behavior than is there; it's really no wonder.

But good, that's good. It's just that I'm still getting used to caring for humans, and those are actually people you can talk to.

["Bonding with Animals" is probably at least a 200-level course.]

[personal profile] bloodspent 2018-07-14 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Hm...]

Some people get really attached to their pets, some just sort of like them and keep them around but aren't really attached to them like they're family or anything. As long as you aren't treating them badly you're pretty okay? Neutral's fine, being a dick to them isn't.
eudaimonikos: (what we owe to each other)

[personal profile] eudaimonikos 2018-07-15 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm not trying to be a dick to them. There'd really be no point.

[also it's wrong and stuff]

It's just hard to gauge, when they're so unresponsive to things. Usually, I know when a human doesn't like what I'm doing.
