Week 6.

WEEK 6 One thing is going to be made abundantly clear this week: the routes you're traveling are cold. Through Monday night, you'll likely find it best to skirt around the foot of that massive mountain that lies immediately to the east of Eterna City; it looks treacherous, and while some of you may be up to the trip, it's probably best to not waste your energy before you get anywhere near Lake Acuity. The journey is going to be a long one before you get there, but the first few days will see you making good time, actually. Between that and the noticeable changes to the world, maybe it won't be so bad...? ...Or not. Tuesday morning and beyond is where the hell sets in for those of you that aren't used to or don't like the cold. The routes are full of perpetual snowfall; it isn't heavy, given the time of year, but the fact of the matter is that it's still coming down, and the snow is piled up directly on the route clear up to the average person's waist. It makes traveling slow going, though if you have a fire-type it might be feasible to clear a bit more of a path - be careful with that, though, because all the runoff has to go somewhere, and it's possible that you'll just make the path icy in the end. Either way, it's cold, due to the snowfall you're going to be wet, and traveling is going to be very, very slow; here's hoping whatever's at that lake is worth it, in the end. ...Wherever the lake may actually happen to lie; no matter where you look on the way to Snowpoint City, you won't find an entrance to it... I believe so! I do have notes that the majority of species near to Snowpoint here are Ice types, but it could be a combination...?

[ That said, Onix bats it back! Or intends to, because the Sneasel dodges that whip of it's tail, though it does smash apart some rocks in its path. ]

True enough. Let me look it up, hold on!

[Chelsea rummages through her bag and pulls out the now-tattered field guide to thumb through it.]

Hm... 'kay, it's not that one...

[ So.

She's torn between looking at that book and looking at the fight and eventually settles on the fight? But okay, she nods ]

Oh, but the Onix is surprisingly quick...

[ Or at least can move fast. Huh. ]

Yeah, especially for something that big! Since it's made of rocks, you'd think it'd be slow, right? I thought the Rock-type was mostly defensive.

I thought so as well, but I suppose there is no strict rule against the opposite!

[ Said Onix, by the way, rolls on the ground. It shakes the earth, but it also polishes up it's rocks! And once done... it seems to be moving even faster.

... How's the finding out what the cat thing is. ]

[flip flip] Okay, it's gotta be one of these guys! [She shows the pages with the Sneasel/Weavile line.] Sneasel, the Sharp Claw Pokémon. These Dark/Ice-types largely eat eggs. They work in pairs to hunt, using one as a distraction while the other steals eggs from the nest... Wonder if that means this one has a friend someplace?

Oh! If that is how they hunt, then yes, that seems possible...? Could this be a battle over the eggs of the Onix...? No, surely not, it has migrated quite a ways...

[ But that said, now Rock Polished, the Onix moves rapidly, swerving around past the Sneasel and whipping up the ground. This happens for a while, but the the Sneasel is able to rapidly scramble into a tree and...

Well.

Awkward pause but. ]

........I guess that's one way to get out of a jam. And into a bigger one.

It doesn't seem very smart, no.

[ That said?

... The Onix goes to swing it's tail at the Sneasel!

... Until the Sneasel blows up an Icy Wind. ... Errr? ]

[She pumps her fists.] I get it! It's gonna slow it down again 'cause of the wind resistance!

So it seems!

[ Plus the Icy Wind seems to hurt the Onix? Ice is good against ground after all. But that said, it'll keep blowing before it slips out of the way there, getting behind a tree. Or well, is it only the one? That one looks-

There's a second Sneasel there next to the first one! Huh. ]

Hey, look! [Clap, clap.] Think they were hunting after all? Looks like it.

[hyruglyphics]

Does that mean the Onix has eggs?

[ The second one doesn't seem to be involving itself in the fight though, but the two do look at each other like? You fighting? Well I'm fighting. Are you? It's a very Who's on First situation right now there until the Onic, slowed by the Icy Wind once more does a Rock Throw at where the two are and it -

Beams one of the Sneasel in the gut, knocking it out immediately. ]

[niceoppai]

Whoaaaa!

[She cheers and claps at the Onix.]

That guy's pretty determined, don't you think?

[hyruglyphics]

That he is! The creature truly has courage to spare!

[ Or maybe it's just instinct? It's a little unclear, honestly, because of the weird delays between attacks. But that said, the Onix once more readies itself up just to be hit in the face by a new Icy Wind. If the one Sneasel is bothered his friend is knocked out, it doesn't show. ]

Oh, man, oh, man...

[Chelsea clenches her fists and shivers watching the two.]

It's gotta be tough for them, but they're fighting it out anyway! When you put it like that, it's really sort of moving!

I do wonder how it shall... end!

[ HUH THAT's-

.... Well, that Icy Wind seems to have beat up the Onix, only to finally have the Sneasel come in to finish the rock snake off in the form of coating it's claw in metal(?) and slashing at the rocks of the thing's face! And it wobbles before it's... down! ]
