Week 7.

WEEK 7 After a week of nothing but snow, it's likely that the city is a welcome sight. The city proper is likewise blanketed in snow, but it's far shallower here, easily walked through; it's soft and powdery and unlikely to cause you to slip, the kind of snow small children and Pokémon might enjoy playing in if they're the sort to enjoy that kind of thing. And if they were capable of enjoying much, in the case of the children. That said, the people here are still in the mildly improved state you witnessed in Eterna; it isn't much, but it is improvement, and the world around you continues to change in other, smaller ways as well, so it isn't all for naught. The wild Pokémon here, however, seem to be experiencing something a little...different from what you've been seeing so far - specifically, the Shellos here seem a little hostile toward one another. Snowpoint City is separate from and parallel to the giant mountain you passed last week, and it's populated by both the blue and pink varieties; the different sorts...don't seem to like each other much. It isn't all-out warfare or anything, but there are definitely skirmishes and mounting tensions happening in slug culture here. Mediate if you choose, or just enjoy your time in the city. You've earned it, after last week. [He makes a "same difference" kind of gesture.]

I guess. So now you're a ghost doctor?

If that's what they want from me, sure! It was my job to take care of dead humans - euphemistically, of course, but now I want to actually do that.

At least here, it's much more straightforward. Spray a Potion on them and you're done.

No kidding. Wish they'd invented this stuff in other worlds. It looks so convenient.

[eudaimonikos]

Even after death! Does it - [He spins the empty bottle in his hand, looking it over.] - does it work on people, do we know that?

[niceoppai]

I dunno. I mean, it works on stuff that used to be people. Maybe it's a physiology thing, though.

[eudaimonikos]

Hm.

[He reaches for his bag again, then stops mid-motion.]

If I prick myself a bit with my knife, are you going to freak out?

[niceoppai]

Wait, what!? Are you sure about this? What if it doesn't work?

[eudaimonikos]

I said prick myself, Chelsea, not stab. I'm very familiar with the difference.

[Though he's not going directly for the knife, because that sounded like a "yes" to freaking out.]

[niceoppai]

[She makes a face.] Well, I guess... If you wanna try it, I guess we don't have another way. Probably people haven't tried.

[eudaimonikos]

Exactly! It's just for the sake of discovery!

[Aaaaand here is his knife! It was clearly made as a camping tool, rather than a weapon - not like you couldn't stab someone with it, but it's not large. Michael pushes up his sleeve, selects a spot on the back of his arm, and pricks himself lightly with the very tip of the blade. He does know how to use a knife, it's not at all bad.]

Okay, and... [He gets out a Potion and sprays it on the cut. Fucking nothing happens.] ...well, that's good to know. No problem, I have just the thing.

...y'know, that's actually kind of disappointing.

[eudaimonikos]

It is, a bit...

[He pulls a brand-new box of band-aids out of somewhere, opens one, and puts it over the injury. Though the box looked normal, the bandage itself proves to be just absolutely covered in Bugs Bunny. Michael smiles when he notices.]

Heh. Sure, guys.

[niceoppai]

Huh. Something you picked up in the mart?

[eudaimonikos]

No, no, my friends from back home gave me these! You know, because of your stupid fragile human bodies.

[Probably that's the reason he seems to be admiring the band-aid.]

[niceoppai]

Okay, I'm pretty sure you physically can't not insult someone, so... ehe. So just in case you ever got hurt, you could have... rabbits on you. It is kinda charming!

[eudaimonikos]

It is, isn't it? [He grins.] You know, Bugs Bunny is actually an entity of pure chaos?

[He's almost certainly making that up.]

What, like the gods around here or something?

[eudaimonikos]

Oh, yes.

[Now he's completely earnest. Or, well, acting completely earnest.]

Furrier, of course, and far less predictable. He doesn't do things on the macro scale often, but you don't want to cross him.

Your guys's worlds are weird. Just saying.

[eudaimonikos]

I guess they might seem that way. I think a lot of your worlds are a bit odd.

[Michael makes a mental note to keep up the lie about Trickster God Bugs Bunny forever.]

[niceoppai]

How's mine weird? I don't have rabbit gods.

[eudaimonikos]

You have to have something weird. You're a cop, you must see all kinds of shit!

[give him the deets]

I mean, I don't think Zel ever got over me telling her about teleportation gates, but that just seems pretty normal. How else are you gonna cross the galaxy? It'd take centuries without a gate, wouldn't it?

[eudaimonikos]

For you, sure. You gotta have a portal.

[He's just assuming that gate == portal?]

But Chelsea, you understand that most people here would find that kinda weird.
