Week 9.
WEEK 9 The one thing Team Galactic seems to have done right in this world is perfecting teleportation technology. The device Maylene gave Rey will get all of you back to Eterna City easily; from there, it's a matter of very briefly stocking up on supplies on Sunday before you move westward, away from the massive, imposing form of Mount Coronet and into the deep shadows of Eterna Forest. During your brief stay in Eterna City, it's likely that you'll notice a few things have changed, as far as both the people and the Pokémon go; this holds true as you make your preparations and disappear into the forest on Monday. It's heartening, maybe, to know that once again your actions seem to have made a difference; meanwhile, the trip to Lake Verity looks to be a long one, but it isn't entirely insurmountable. The forest itself is large and dark, covered high overhead with a thick canopy of trees; the Pokémon here are plentiful, which likely cuts down on any inherent creepiness to the place - whether that's a good or a bad thing depends entirely on your point of view. Either way, it's going to be quite the adventure trying to make your way through; here's hoping that your luck continues to hold over the coming week... POKEMON AVAILABLE: PLAINS/FOREST SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY [OOC: Welcome to week nine of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!] |

Be pretty fun, wouldn't it?

So how are the local undead doing around here, anyway? Other than the fact that there are, uh. A bunch more of them.

[He shoves his hands into the pockets of his suit jacket, spinning on his heel to watch the Gastly and Misdreavus depart for a moment. They're slow about it, but a few of them seem to be clustering together. Maybe they'll fight.]
It's still weird that they can't talk. I’m used to humans staying human.

[He glances over at Jane Doe, realizes that she is definitely here and listening, and grimaces.]
They don't seem to have much sense of who they were. Would you...really be alright with that?
no subject
It's not like being who I am has actually done me all that many favors. Not remembering that friend of mine would suck, I guess, but I'd be okay getting a mulligan on everything else.
no subject
[On one hand, that's not a terribly surprising stance to hear from Jake. On the other.]
Well, as an objective observer, I think it sucks. And so does the reincarnation one. [.....] Reincarnation's maybe a little better, but either way, be a shame to see you go.
no subject
...Yeah, I don't want to forget about you, either. For what it's worth.
no subject
Good. See that you don't.
[yeah that seems right
What were they even talking about?]
Anyway, ah, the ghosts. They're - yeah, I don't know, seemed like the least I could do.
no subject
It's good of you. Like, really, I'm not just saying that shit.
no subject
I was trying to help out some more humans back home, so it's really just a continuation of that. I've - [He folds his arms.] - this isn't news, but I've done a lot of bad shit.
no subject
[oh my god this is so.]
...Look, are you okay? I wasn't trying to... [He just kind of gestures vaguely, like that's going to finish the damn sentence for him.]
no subject
Yeah, no, no. It's fine. [He waves a hand dismissively.] I'm just, uh. I don't know. This sounds stupid, but I really don't like how mortal all you guys are. It'd be one thing if we were on my Earth, but who even knows what'd happen to you here.
no subject
[That much seems entirely genuine.]
This sort of shit sucks. We don't like thinking about it, either, so a lot of the time we just kind of ignore it. You've got a whole different context for it, though, yeah?
no subject
[He huffs a sigh and takes off his glasses to rub at his face. He'd already begun to pace a little somewhere in there.]
I know you deal with this all the time, I do. I don't mean to be...histrionic.
no subject
[Good job, Jake, very eloquent.]
Anyway, nobody's gonna die here. Not us, not you. The goal is not dying and we're all gonna do that, because we're too fucking stubborn to accept anything else. We're all going to try to be less stupid, except when we're not because facing down a guy with at least three gods is really fucking stupid by default.
It's going to work out, okay?

[The question's earnest, in a way Michael most often isn't.]
I mean, it stands to reason it could. Cyrus was just a human when he beat the gods to begin with. The only thing he had when he started that we don't is a lifetime of experience with Pokemon battles. [Which isn't, uh, nothing, but. He takes a deep breath, peering through the lenses of his glasses to check their cleanliness before putting them back on. Seems like the spiraling is stopping.] Right. You're right.
[He feels a little bit embarrassed now. Not that he'd been concerned about it - the humans dying still seems plenty possible - but that he'd gone off like that. Normally he'd just try to act like it didn't happen, but that sure did just happen a lot.]
no subject
...Maybe we're not thinking about it from the right angle. Yeah, Cyrus has gods on his side, but that means we don't have to beat the gods, necessarily. That means we have to beat the guy they're listening to.
Cyrus is a human. Or at least he was. If we're careful about it, we can beat a human.
no subject
Fair point. It might depend how closely he's controlling them - I'm sure they won't move to protect him if we don't give him a chance to order it. If they have the ability to not do that.
[It seems like it must be something beyond what they know. Maybe you could shove a Pokemon god in a Pokeball, but everybody here probably knows that doing so doesn't make them just suddenly completely subservient.]
We haven't talked as a group yet about making a detour to find those mini-gods in Canalave - what do you think about that?
no subject
[Mm.]
No harm in seeking out the gods, though, I guess. Might as well see what state they're in, if nothing else.
no subject
[He won't, of course, or he wouldn't have voiced the threat. It would be a wasted gesture on the current population.]
We can start with Cresselia and see how that goes. Sounded like Darkrai would be less friendly, we don't really need more of that in our lives.

[Shrug! They could spitball all night about it, they're real far from any actual answers.]
Still, worth checking in. It hasn't been long at all from an immortal perspective, I know a lot of guys who'd still be waiting to see if it cleared up on its own.
