Week 9.

WEEK 9

The one thing Team Galactic seems to have done right in this world is perfecting teleportation technology.

The device Maylene gave Rey will get all of you back to Eterna City easily; from there, it's a matter of very briefly stocking up on supplies on Sunday before you move westward, away from the massive, imposing form of Mount Coronet and into the deep shadows of Eterna Forest.

During your brief stay in Eterna City, it's likely that you'll notice a few things have changed, as far as both the people and the Pokémon go; this holds true as you make your preparations and disappear into the forest on Monday. It's heartening, maybe, to know that once again your actions seem to have made a difference; meanwhile, the trip to Lake Verity looks to be a long one, but it isn't entirely insurmountable.

The forest itself is large and dark, covered high overhead with a thick canopy of trees; the Pokémon here are plentiful, which likely cuts down on any inherent creepiness to the place - whether that's a good or a bad thing depends entirely on your point of view. Either way, it's going to be quite the adventure trying to make your way through; here's hoping that your luck continues to hold over the coming week...

CURRENT LOCATION: ETERNA FOREST
POKEMON AVAILABLE: PLAINS/FOREST

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week nine of Azume; feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget that a write-up is due this weekend!]

[It's always impressive to see other people's Pokemon fight. There's always something to learn -- and Kiryu is pretty good at analyzing other people's fighting styles. He's silently analyzing how Camilla's Pokemon move and already thinking of ways to incorporate what he learns into his own Pokemon's strategies.

He also comments]

I like the way your Pokemon fight.

[It's almost merciless how they don't give a chance for the enemy to recover and gather their wits. Kiryu likes it a lot. He decides not to intervene, since Camilla's Pokemon are doing so well]

[Mercilessness is Camilla's specialty; it's no surprise that she's managed to translate that into her training style, but Camilla turns her attention away from the little bagworm in her arms to shoot Kiryu a smile none the less.]

Why, thank you! I have taught them everything I know; it's not too often that I get the chance to let them run together as a group, but they're taking to it incredibly.

[seriously, those starly don't stand a chance]

[Kiryu would feel bad for those birds if they hadn't attacked this bug Camilla is healing. Particularly impressive moves get a 'that's rad' from Kiryu, indicating he pretty much intends to copy that]

I have taught my own Pokemon a thing or two, but it's hard to teach them my fighting styles. Fighting types have an easier time learning, that should give us an edge.

[The downside is that unlike Camilla's brutal approach, his training is strictly individualistic. He wouldn't be able to command more than one Pokemon at once]

...You know, I have been meaning to get one for myself. They're quite fascinating things, aren't they?

[She's mostly talking about fighting types in general, but while she heals up the little Burmy in her arms, her look going contemplative.]

Really, I find that focusing on their strengths in battle is the key to winning against any of the wild ones we fight. I suppose that comes with being a soldier; we would usually have someone able to divvy us into groups, based on information from our scouts and the like. We would work to ensure that we could make up for one another's weak points.

Perhaps you should join us, sometime, Kiryu. I would be interested in seeing how your partners would adapt to such a thing, if you have interest in it.

I'm used to brute force. In my former line of work, strength gets you far. Cunning helps, but without people respecting you for what you can do you won't get anywhere. It doesn't have that much strategy.

[Who'd have thought real estate managers needed strength? But yeah, even if Kiryu wasn't ever too interested about climbing ranks in the yakuza, the respect everyone had for him made him get rather far up the ladder. Recent events gave him legendary status among the yakuza, and he wants nothing to do with it.

Camilla's offer immediately gets his interest]

Sure. I'm down for it.
