WEEK 10

You've found a few new friends this past week, and along with them, a new town to explore.

Granted, there doesn't seem to be much, particularly when compared to the cities you started out in; at the same time, the air is fresh with the scent of flowers and honey wafting on the breeze. Along with the usual Pokémon that can be found in populated areas, it seems that several Combees have made their home here - they can be found drifting along idly, seeming no more capable of true emotion than anyone or anything else, but perhaps they're trying their best. It's a little difficult to say; they are still bees, after all.

That said, the world continues to change around you, bit by bit; you still have a long way to go before you've saved everyone, but for the time being you should probably recharge, and take some time to sort through what should happen next. Talking to the locals may net you the information that there's something odd about the meadow north of town; perhaps a few of you should go to check it out...

[Sena guesses he has a new Pokemon now??? Probably?????

He tentatively raises a hand to the...ghost? Demon? Eldritch entity???]

D-Do you wanna come with us...?

[Immediately, another rattle comes from the floating shell. That came pretty quickly this time, so...yes? He thinks?]

Um...great!

[Oh boy they're traveling with demons now, this is probably fine.]

Maybe...one of the others will have an explanation for why this happened? Rey-san let me borrow a book on Pokemon, so that might help if your Pokemon is actually in it.

[It's a stretch, but maybe...?]

[Can't be any worse than traveling with Michael, right?]

You think so? I haven't seen a book that has information on Nin...since I don't think she's actually from this region. I saw a book that compared them to other bug types, but other than that, I'm not sure...

[...you have a point.]

Oh...your Pokemon isn't from here, either?

[Well that's a problem.]

Seems like that's been an issue with a lot of us...

I don't think it is, no...

[He laughs a bit.]

I think Galactic gave a lot of us Pokemon that aren't from here... [Except for Sena himself, ironically enough.] But we're all doing our best to learn about them, you know?

Hah, yeah...it's definitely been a little tricky.

Sorry I came running over here out of nowhere, by the way. I was worried something was wrong. My name is Atsushi.

No, it's okay, really!

[He grins weakly and holds out a hand.]

I mean...I'm glad someone came when I was screaming, even if it ended up being over nothing much... [Whether it's nothing big remains to be seen, but it seems to be okay for now, at least.]

I'm Sena!

[Atsushi takes his hand, shaking it briefly.]

I don't know if I'd say it was nothing...I mean, your one Pokemon suddenly became two.

Erm...y-yeah.

[Sweating.]

I've seen Pokemon do a lotta weird things, but...nothing like that.

[Wait until you see Substitute.]

[Does he have to...]

At least it's good though, right? It's a little weird and maybe a bit scary, but...maybe having a new Pokemon will be a good thing in the end.

[Hopefully not? Nobody's found a TM or anything like that. Yet.]

I don't think having a new partner is a bad thing...although I seem to keep getting them accidentally...

[The only one that possibly doesn't qualify is maaaaaybe the Abra, but even that's uncertain.]

Accidentally, huh? So you mean you haven't caught any Pokemon yet either?

[Don't lump him in with you, Atsushi, he at least has more than just his starter on him.]

K-Kinda? I mean, I have other Pokemon, I'm just not sure if it counted as catching them...

[More like a series of happy accidents.]

Yeah...I mean, at least you have more than one at this point. I probably should have been trying to catch something while I was at Floaroma town but I never really thought about doing it.

[Also the thought of catching a wild Pokemon was pretty strange to him until recently.]

Um, yeah...I mean, the idea of battling and catching these guys never really sunk in, I think...I mean, we battle now and stuff, but...

[Sena waves his hands sheepishly.] It's just so different to what I'm used to...catching them still seems kinda mean, even if it is normal...

[Is it obvious he still feels bad about how he got the Abra? Yeah, kinda.]

No, I get you. I feel the same way. It's normal here, but it's a little hard to wrap your head around otherwise.

[But he figures he'll get used to it eventually, especially since it seems like everyone else had at one point or another.]

It's a lot easier to just have a Pokemon want to come with you on its own rather than catching it yourself.

Yeah...although you shoulda seen them before. They really weren't doing much of anything other than staring at us...a lot of us got Pokemon 'cause they were following us like some kinda weird robots...

[Shudder.] It's a little better now, but I think I'd prefer catching Pokemon than seeing them do...that.

No yeah, that sounds a little...scary.

[He saw a few Pokemon acting that way when he first got to Floaroma, like the Murkrow in town...they weren't as interested in heckling for food then as they had gotten recently.]

It's hard to believe anyone out there could think that's the way things should be.
