Week 10.
WEEK 10 You've found a few new friends this past week, and along with them, a new town to explore. Granted, there doesn't seem to be much, particularly when compared to the cities you started out in; at the same time, the air is fresh with the scent of flowers and honey wafting on the breeze. Along with the usual Pokémon that can be found in populated areas, it seems that several Combees have made their home here - they can be found drifting along idly, seeming no more capable of true emotion than anyone or anything else, but perhaps they're trying their best. It's a little difficult to say; they are still bees, after all. That said, the world continues to change around you, bit by bit; you still have a long way to go before you've saved everyone, but for the time being you should probably recharge, and take some time to sort through what should happen next. Talking to the locals may net you the information that there's something odd about the meadow north of town; perhaps a few of you should go to check it out... Exploration Group!
Still, there is some curiosity about at least one of the places that this town has to offer; there seems to be an entrance to another part of the town over toward the northwest, and what could lie over yonder. Camilla wasn't going to go alone, however; she asked a few of their party to come with her to see what was going on, and Kiryu, Emmeryn, and Zelda have decided to see what's over yonder with her.
They're close to stepping inside, but Camilla takes one last look over at the group with a smile.]

He has his elbows resting on his knees, his palms against his cheeks as he watches his Wimpod scuttling across the grass in front of him. Over the last several weeks he's watched Chazuke change in subtle ways, becoming more alert and less blank and listless, similar to the way the people of this town had. Compared to the companions of this new group, though...he's still pretty much a mystery to Atsushi.
He sighs, letting one hand drop between his legs while the other continues to prop up his head.]
Nobody really seems to know anything about you, including me...what can you do, Chazuke?
[The Wimpod looks up at Atsushi for a long moment, blinks, then returns to pushing his way through the short grass around his trainer's feet.]

Well, one of the odd things that we've been having a bit of trouble with is that our Pokemon aren't native to this region, for the most part. It makes it harder to figure out what our Pokemon are capable of.

But he's got to admit that this place is actually pretty gorgeous, all things considered.
He's spending the earlier parts of the day trying very hard to work with Naočale, now that his other lizard finally seems to be getting his shit together and developing a personality; unfortunately, that personality right now seems to be "BITE EVERYTHING." Fortunately, he hasn't tried biting people? But he definitely is trying to bite everything.
As such, Jake can be found retreiving him from the flowers yet again, just picking him up like a sack of potatoes and setting him down a bit closer to town, and putting berries in the Sandile's face for the sake of healing up several scratches he has picked up very, very recently.]
I have no idea why you guys keep picking fights with cats. I'm telling you, those cats do not give a fuck about you and they're gonna beat your ass.
[...So that's how that's going today.
Later in the evening, Jake seems to have given up on actually trying to train Naočale; he's found somewhere to sit among all the flowers and is just letting him do his thing. For his part, Naočale's currently doing a great job of disappearing into the flower beds, eyes peeking out over the tops of the blossoms, and just stalking anything that happens to come near. (At least he's not biting things right now.)
Jake, meanwhile, is sitting with Hlača in his lap as usual, watching Naočale be himself and once in a while glancing over to see how Cvetka's doing - she's found a couple of the ever-present Shellos (why are they here) and seems to be striking up a conversation of some sort, possibly because they're actually pink here as opposed to the more-common-until-now blue ones. Jake kind of glances down at Hlača after a moment; he really hasn't heard him say anything this whole time, it's kind of weird.]
So do you just not talk at all, or...?
[It's kind of an awkward question; Hlača just proceeds to lightly hit him in the sternum with, just, like, his entire face. Not enough to hurt him, just enough to kind of bop him a bit.]
I mean, it's fine if you don't want to, little man, I don't care. I'm just wondering.

Surprisingly, he actually does have Pokeballs on his belt now, even if all four of them are currently out-- nearly freezing to death had been enough of a near miss for him. If they end up in a dire situation, at least now he can protect his Pokemon. But all four of them are still currently out of their Pokeballs.
He spends most of the afternoon outside, especially around the flowers, because honestly? They're very pretty. He grew up in the city, and even if he has spent the last two years as a farmer, it's still something he's getting used to. Maybe when he finally returns to Wakanda, he should consider adding some flowers to the garden...
Of course, despite having spent a long time in Pokecenters by now, when evening rolls in, he can be found with his tent up, clearly planning on spending the night, given the fact that they are now back in a more temperate climate. His newest companion is already laying down in the grass, sniffing curiously at the flowers.]

Her feet lead her and her Pokemon to the purple area west of the entry gate, and once she reaches it it's like her energy disappears; she drops to her knees and feels no inclination to move, instead running her fingers gently along the petals and watching the flowers sway in the wind. It's all so beautiful - she never wants to leave.
There's something about that thought, combined with the gentle beauty of Floarama Town, her circumstances here and at home, and the feeling of her beloved Pokemon - it feels so good to have constant companions, and she's eventually going to have to leave them - leaning against her side that makes her emotions intensify exponentially, and to her utter surprise and complete annoyance, before she knows it she's crying amongst the flowers that had just brought her such joy.
How aggravating.
The tears, while intense, are short-lived; Golett gently pats her on the head as Rey quickly dries her eyes, getting to her feet and straightening her clothes. Even her Cleffa, still the most emotionless of all her Pokemon, leans a little harder against her leg. It's almost enough to make the tears start back up again, so-]
Sorry about that. Don't know what came over me. Let's go and look at some more flowers okay?
[The flowers are so pretty that it's hard not to spend most of the morning amongst them; Rey is determined to explore every patch within the town, so there's a good chance you'll spot her at some point - and she definitely won't be crying (she promises). If anything, her and Pokemon are battling every wild Pokemon that makes the mistake of coming near them.
In the afternoon, she seems to have made a little camp in the intersection between the red, blue, yellow and purple flowers just behind the flower shop; her Pokemon are in front of her, and she seems to be attempting to make...flower crowns?]

[Well, now that she's given it some attention, and it's realized she's not going to actually harm it, it plops down next to her Fennekin.]
[Later that day, once Aya is done practicing, she heads back into town properly. She has a bit of a train behind her, with Ichigo, Kokoro, Aoi, Chisato, and now Munchlax. She has to laugh a little bit.]

This begins in the morning when she starts off at that flower shop, getting some more berries but also... seeing some of the accessories. Saber and Miphanus couldn't care less, but some of the new members of her team, that is to say her Geodude and Porygon, both as yet unnamed, show some interest in getting things. (she's going around town with all of her Pokemon except Bosphoramus the Onix out. ... He's too big) And so asking for the trade value... ]
I suppose I shall have to gather much more berries...
[ And so she's out at the edge of town to hunt down some berries. All of her Pokemon and her are doing their best to forage to find Razz Berries in particular. ... And maybe Pamtre? None of those seem to be around, but Porygon also doesn't seem to mind much? Ah well.
Eventually, she'll at least find enough Razz Berries and so later in the day, in the afternoon, her Geodude now has magenta sunglasses he thinks he looks fucking gorgeous in. And you know what else? It's going to show off for Zelda against the local Shellos population. You might think a rock shouldn't fight water slugs, right? But as Zelda learns, ]
This confirms it, he truly must be a sub-species or something...
[ Namely, that the Geodude coats itself in electricity before tackling the Shellos with a Spark. Knocking them out. After every bout of that, it does preen a little, posing to look more cool. Zelda laughs, ]
You know, I had thought you were a shoe in to be named for Daruk, but perhaps Urbosa's name would be better for you...
[ But that too will eventually have to calm down, and so by the evening, the now tired but still pretty Geodude is napping at the little table outside the Mart Zelda is sitting at. Miphanus is floating over her shoulder, reading what Zelda is reading, and Saber is there too, also eating up numerous berry offerings on the table. One at a time though! Lest one be spicy! But perhaps the most odd one here in Porygon, who seems to be... spinning it's body? The legs remain in place, but the rest of its body seems to be "rolling" in midair independent of the legs. That's. A thing. It actually sees Zelda looking up from her notes and giggling. ]

[...that name is kind of a mouthful, but sure, why not. You can find them here for most of the morning and early afternoon practicing different moves and strategies, usually with his Pokémon practicing on each other.
If you drop on by in the afternoon, Yuri and his Pokémon are seemingly done for the day since Yuri's flopped in the flowers with his hands behind his head. Rukeno and Roc are resting nearby, but Dein Nomos is floating and just sort of... staring. As he does. He doesn't seem to be focused on anything in particular, though.
While Yuri might look like he's asleep, if you approach he'll open his eyes and speak up.]

It's good training, apparently, because come the afternoon Emmeryn returns to the town with Latona changed, bigger and bulkier as she walks at Emmeryn's side. Her team in tow, Emmeryn's paying a visit to the flower shop, in no small part to collect some berries to reward Duma for being such a good sport. While she's at it...]
Oh, dear, don't you just look precious.
[Duma squawks back, and the thick-rimmed googly spectacles over his snout shake out of place when his big jaw opens up. With a little giggle, Emmeryn crouches down to take them off, but Duma squawks again, this time in protest, until she puts them back on.
Therefore, legally, Emmeryn has to buy them, which is why, come the evening when Emmeryn settles into the Pokémon Center for the night, she has to keep calling lightly from the table she's sat at,] This way, Duma. [before one bespectacled dragonsaur is allowed to walk smack into a wall or a chair or a person. Mmmost of the time, Duma listens.
With Latona in her lap (or, like, half-in, now that she's bigger) and her Ralts sat on her bag like a boost on the bench chair beside her, Emmeryn is busying herself arranging flowers into bouquets. Not really for any particular reason—it's strange, having time to do things just because. She's got a pretty good eye for it! A few tables and counters up and down the Center are decorated with her arrangements placed in vases. Sometimes, Ralts tries to help; other times, she just takes a flower and holds onto it, just to have.]

[Later, wearing more sensible clothes for the weather, she's decided to go offer some help in the flower shop. ...Despite being from the desert. She's getting the basics, anyway, watering planters with a little can and deadheading petunias so the living blooms look nicer.]

That's why although he's been keeping Bito out of his Pokeball, he's attempting to teach restraint. That's going more or less well, Bito seems to understand he shouldn't go pounce onto the Combee hives. Still...
From time to time, another one of Kiryu's Pokemon hold him back. Daigo clings onto his back, Snorunt uses snow and ice to deter him, Shoga is more partial to talking and convincing him, and Ni...well, she glares at Bito until he convinces her to join him, saying honey is worth it.
And during all that Kiryu watches, waiting to see if he'll have to intervene.
In the afternoon he finally has to. After Ni was tempted and she helped Bito to almost get to a hive, he decides it's nigh time to stand in Bito's way]
You're going to get in a lot of trouble with those Combee if you don't stop, Bito. You understand? [He understands, he does, but when's he going to get a chance to get more honey? He already had a pot of honey today, but just a bit more...] If you insist then I have no choice. Defeat me and I'll give you some more honey. Consider this your training for today.
[And so they start. Kiryu has been training his Fighting types to emulate his movements, but Kiryu, having been using such styles for much longer, has that advantage over them. Bito has more strength, though, and good defenses.
Kiryu doesn't hold back, squared up and receiving a tackle right into the solar plexus without flinching, and grabs Bito to slam him onto the floor belly down, stomping onto his back to hold him onto the ground. Bito pushes Kiryu away, flying in the air and launching a Pin Missile attack, Kiryu dodging and grabbing a small log, swinging it towards Bito, who is forced to block with his arms.
It takes a while, but soon Kiryu has Bito subdued. Tired and defeated, Bito lies on the floor. Kiryu isn't looking very good either, breathing heavily and clearly struggling to stay on his feet. Fighting a Pokemon with your bare hands isn't a wise decision. This was certainly a rougher training than most trainers would do with their Pokemon, but both Bito and Kiryu are satisfied, even happy. Proud of his partner, Kiryu helps Bito stand up, giving him earnest congratulations. The rest of the team cheer too. Won't be long before Bito is better than Kiryu at fighting]

That changes in the afternoon, however, when Nin suddenly starts glowing with a bright light after defeating a random Chingling. Sena and the rest of his team watch in awe as her form shifts and changes to a cocoon-like shape, before the light bursts out of the shape and forms into a completely separate entity. It's so blinding that Sena covers his eyes, and when he opens them, a two foot tall cicada is hovering in front of his face.]
Woah, Nin! You've grown up! That's incredible!
[The Ninjask buzzes her wings, darting up and down and back and forth in front of him. It seems like she can't really stay still in this form, which is such a strange contrast to how clingy she was before.]
You're so fast now, I can barely keep u - uh? [Sena squints, something seems to be missing. It takes him a second to realize.] Oh, your ribbon...where did it go? Did you drop it when you evolved...?
[He looks around in the grass, and finds a strange shell-like cocoon lying where Nin had once stood. Where did that even come from? It's wearing Nin's ribbon around its neck, so was that her old shell or something? But it doesn't look anything like the Nincada she used to be...
Still, that's her ribbon, so he should get it for her. Sena reaches down to pull it off...and the shell twitches underneath his fingers.]
H...huh?
[He just imagined that...right? Right?

Hi-hieeeeeh-!
[Sena pulls his fingers back quickly, freezing in terror as the shell twitches, rustles in the grass, then cracks down the span of its back, giving Sena a quick glimpse of unyielding darkness within before he hurls himself backwards.
Then it pulls itself up and starts floating, letting loose a low cry not unlike some kind of wraith.
Sena, naturally, takes this very well.]

This morning, he'll be in the Flower Shop! He spends a while putting various accessories on his Pokemon, with no apparent intention of actually buying them. Is that rude? Very well, it's rude. But Jane Doe is having fun playing with a lacy parasol, Cat Janet is flaunting a long cape, and even Lena seems a little more attentive to Michael as he tucks various types of flower into the fur by the base of her weird mouth-horn thing, picking out the one best suited.
In the end, he only leaves with a silk flower for Lena. And also Quaver has both claws full of confetti. Don't worry about that, it's fine.
For a small part of the afternoon, he breaks out the Jane Doe Foundation box again and goes to
harasspetition the townspeople. Jane's still with him; while she's gotten somewhat better at trying to look sad and pitiful, she's also evolved into a horrible enormous floating face. So reactions are a little mixed there.Either way, Floaroma's even smaller than Snowpoint, and Michael quickly runs out of likely-looking victims. Clearly, another solution is in order.
Luckily, that flower shop does have other uses! So Michael, with the help of his Pokemon, rounds up some local Gastly and Misdreavus (along with a Rotom this time!) out by one of those patches of tilled earth in the flower fields.]
Okay, everyone! I can't believe I'm having to teach you this - it seems like a pretty basic concept. You literally learned it millenia ago, those of you who were human, and those of you who were other Pokemon have no excuse, a ton of them are actual plants. Anyway, this is how we turn one Oran berry into a sustainable berry supply.
[What follows is basically just Michael Presents Agriculture 101: Berry Farming]
Now, it's important that you not eat all of the - hey. [He points into the little gathering, at a wild Heracross who has taken an interest in the proceedings. It's sort of obnoxiously pink; aren't they usually blue?] What's that doing here? You're not a ghost, buddy, beat it.

It's in the morning that one can find her training her darling group; Camilla hasn't been allowing herself a chance to slouch since they got into Snowpoint, and the many Combee that her team have gone against prove that much. Her Pokemon are out in a group, seeming to take on a small horde with plenty of coordination.]
Arion, you're doing wonderful! Hit them with another Crunch! [Camilla watches as a Combee seems to come from behind while he does that, signalling to her Burmy.] Eda, get behind Arion and use Protect! And Altena, use Feint Attack while it's distracted!
[The coordinated movements between Eda and Altena are definitely enough to ensure that Arion's flank isn't left open by the time the Combee decides to attack. It gets some clapping from Camilla, who joyfully watches on.]
You're doing great, darlings! Keep it up!
[Closer to the evening sees Camilla laying down in the field, her Pokemon all out and most of them curled up near her as she watches the sky turn to dusk. Eda's probably out trying to pick up any trash that's in the field, while Beruka follows the little insect along. Arion, however, gets some of Camilla's amusement as she feels him snuggle up to her with a chuckle.]
Why, sweetheart, you're never usually this cuddly. What's the occasion, hm~? [The teasing statement gets a bit of a groan from the Deino, but that reaction gets a chuckle from Camilla.] I only jest, you know. You can stay as close to me as you want, my darling partner. I promise you that.
[Maybe he's just jealous of how much affection she gave Shaymin, now that she thinks of it. Either way, it's almost cute.]

Eventually, he makes an attempt to leave to try and do some Pokemon training, which is... not particularly pleasant, so he ends up kind of sneezing uselessly in the meadow while his Pokemon take on some of the local Shellos for training. He really wants to go back in, but his Budew's actually making unexpected amounts of progress today, which... well. He's been trying to play favorites a bit less and said Budew has always kind of liked him for, you know, saving him, so after taking down one more Shellos around midday, there's a flash of light... and ah!
...he's only a few centimeters taller but he is a fancy rose boy now!]
Ah, Duibhne, you did it!
[KAYNETH IS SO EXCITED HE JUST KINDA LIFTS THAT BOY UP... and then remembers himself and sets him down and kind of pats him on the head.
In the evening, they've headed to the flower shop, where as a sort of celebration Kayneth's letting Duibhne pick out an accessory for himself, although... there are perhaps some budget constraints there, as Duibhne picks out some Gorgeous Specs...]
I... erm... I think I can only trade for the black glasses, unfortunately...
[...is he being truthful, or is he just trying to help his Pokemon not look like a loud, tasteless idiot? Either way, Duibhne doesn't seem that disappointed.
